Big fan of this mod, thanks so much for keeping it updated and compatible with current X4. Was wondering if you'd consider an add-on kinda thing for More Ship Rooms compatibility now that MrBlair29 picked up the torch from Derinzed?
I've been using this MOD for years. Love the ships. However. I'm just back into X4, so downloaded the new version (Having made sure the old one was gone.) V1_2_1. Chatted to my staff member and ordered my free Fury as it can carry an "S" class ship. Called the Fury to base. It didn't budge. Called it again. Nothing. So I checked the ships stats out to see why it wasn't moving. It had NO attachments. No engines, no shields, no turrets and no guns. And before you ask, it's in my Extensions folder as it should be and as it's always been and had worked flawlessly before.
Got it working: Problem was that VRO compatibility patch had turned itself off.
Keeping the rest so people can recognize the symptoms:
All the software is loaded, the ship has crew, but none of the systems exist: engine, thrusters, weapons, turrets & shields. And since it's tagged no-build, it doesn't show up in menus.
Reduced the cost to 24cr for each, and none of them have any systems and cannot move once spawned.
It IS possible to get them up and running: you can cheat teleport the ship to an Eq Dock or Warf and purchase weapons and gear that that race allows you to buy, but you lose out on anything that is unique.
I'd be happy to actually write the fixes if I knew what they were, I live in text files all day and while XML makes my eyes bleed, I can work in it.
Thanks for that. I don't have VRO so that wasn't an issue. However, I managed to get mine up and running too, but I can't find out what MOD(s) it/they were*? I just made all races equipment available for any ships. So now I can contact the mad scientist and know that the ship will 100% have engines and everything installed.
* It's an age thing. I can remember what i was doing 50+ years ago, but what I did last week is a blank 8-((...
Thanks for updating these ships. I used a Blaze Havoc for ages until v3.30. when I stopped playing X4. Just updated to KE V6 and had had issues with all my saves. Great to find that you have updated these to work in Kingdom End.
So I went and got the Havoc today, and went to an argon warf for some mods and equipment. The shields section has a critical component not installed warning. So Im guessing either I loaded the vro file wrong or there is an issue with the file with the latest update. Anyone else having similar issue?
The "need to" is more of a suggestion as vortex had issues with X4 mods as long as i can remember, however on the off chance that they might fix it some day i didn't disable the button.
is there a way to buy blueprints for the devastator turret? I really appreciate any help you can provide. I placed faction argon as described but it didn't work does argon have a different name
I'm just starting on modding too, but AFAIK you'd download the x catalog tool here https://www.egosoft.com/download/x4/bonus_en.php(have to create an account and register your game or connect steam to prove ownership before downloading), extract the .cat for the mod, and find libraries\wares.xml. You would add <owner faction="terran" />or somesuch between the right <ware></ware> tags for the item you want blueprints for. Then, use the x catalog tool again to re-pack the .cat file. Then that faction should have the blueprints(and will therefore sometimes use the item on their ships, which is probably why Socks-san didn't add these tags.) The forum can help you more and correct anything I've gotten wrong.
Here is the code where do ı put the faction and ı want the argon have it not the terran. do ı have to change anything else there is a line noblueprint and one more question which file do ı have to edit the blueprints for the ships because ı want also build the havoc
I love your mod, made the game a lot more fun to play, also i found my personal command ship . If you ever have some free time , would you consider to add the beautiful Boron Hydra regal to this collection of ships , with some main weapon , shield and turret improvements like on the other ships and capable to use weapons from all fractions. That would be great. Anyway, thanks for all the work you put in this mod.
I know this is a bit unorthadox, since it's kind of "behind the curtain" talk, but would you be willing to share a bit on how you went about learning to make these? I know you and several other modders that have been on haitus due to life just don't have a ton of time to generate new content and I'd like to dip my toes into monkeying around with ships themselves (specifically Boron ships)
Do I actually need to learn blender? Is there a forum or wiki somewhere that you were able to just follow and come up with these masterpieces?
My starting idea is just a simple additional two guns on the hydra regal, just as proof of concept to myself that I'm capable of this sort of undertaking :)
Check out the egosoft forums modding section, there are a bunch of tutorials hosted. You can also check out the egosoft discord community, they're a friendly and helpful bunch. You won't need blender if you wanna reuse existing ship hulls, like i did, but it would make it easier.
In testing out version 6.0, I got attached to these wonderful ships. I love them. I switched to using VRO and sadly realized I can't use these ships anymore. Is making them compatible with VRO an easy thing or is it too involved? I know your time is limited.
"Can't use these ships anymore" isn't a report i can get any helpful info from. An optional file for internal shields for VRO compatibility exists, but i didn't follow the latest vro updates, so not sure what else changed.
