I get the frustration. I quit X3 over a decade ago and recently decided to have a look at X4. I got rid of encounters and highways using mods. But I can not get rid of the most important thing of all; the way my escort fighters get a hard on for some Xenon cruising by and chase it across the galaxy into Xenon space and die. Losses due to bugs is so annoying and distracts from playing the game. Intercepting where a target was instead of where it is heading is also annoying to watch OOS. Then there is the expanded sectors and factories spam with 2.50, all of which kill FPS. Moderators at the forum told me they are hoping to fix all this in the next patch and beta is due soon. X was always a good game let down by idiotic AI behaviour. It still is. It has improved in lots of ways, but introduced new annoyances while it is at it. Modding is almost dead. Not a good sign. Maybe some will get active when the new version is out. I think the devs should leak fixes as mods to see how things pan out, but they prefer this 'we only want to know if you play vanilla thing. They can't blame modders [and don't], because it is well established that the vanilla game has all of the most prevalent issues we see. I want to mod capital ship main batteries as my first foray. I noticed 24 Perseus fighters with beam weapons can kill a K faster than 15 destroyers. That is silly. I did a few scripts for my Arma and OFP installs years ago, so maybe i can work out how to do this. That is just a change of weapon values in a list I think.

Damn, I understand the frustration with not coming back to X4 and working on this mod but this was one I loved for the game. Sadly with 2.0 it is a bit off and leads to invincible K class Xenon ships and things going a bit sideways. I hope someone picks this up and tweaks it for 2.0 because I loved it. A big thank you to the mod author for all of the hard work that was put into this.

I know, it's hard for the people that care about balance atm.
Please if someone knows about a mod that balance combat and compatible with 2.0, please let me know, thanks to this mod owner for his work and I hope for his return.
