I am no longer maintaining this mod, as such should you wish to fix it and reupload, you may do so to any platform either separately or in a pack, provided that you give me credit as the original author. As such I give no guarantee of functionality now or at any later time unless I resume maintaining this mod.
Also, mods disable ventures now and so this mod should be deprecated.
Does this mod adversely affect the player that sent the expedition? If yes, then why would I want to add a mod that automatically causes another player to suffer for trying to take advantage of a game feature?
If a visitor is destroyed, the player that sent it loses that ship, and gets no reward from the venture they sent it on. This is a douche mod, and crap like this is why I've given up on ventures.
If you add a visitor faction to other factions as enemy (-0.032 - not enough enemy to be killed on sight by faction police and stations), then 1) sector patrols won't pay attention on you attaking visitors, 2) you'll get a reputation&money reward from nearby station for defending it from those visitor, 3) you'll get an aditional money reward from sector faction
@jmattspartacus You can remove problems with sector patrol, by making visitor faction an enemy to every other faction. But if we don't want every faction ship&station kill visitors on sight - just make them a small enemy (-0.032 for example). Read my post below.
No, they don't harm you... for now... as we don't know how venture system will expand. But now you can have a bonus from their killing! don't know why the author ignores my posts, but there - replace contents of libraries/factions.xml in mod's folder with this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <diff> <add sel="//faction[@id='player']/relations"> <relation faction="visitor" relation="-0.5" /> </add> <add sel="//faction[@id='alliance']/relations"> <relation faction="visitor" relation="-0.032" /> </add> <add sel="//faction[@id='antigone']/relations"> <relation faction="visitor" relation="-0.032" /> </add> <add sel="//faction[@id='argon']/relations"> <relation faction="visitor" relation="-0.032" /> </add> <add sel="//faction[@id='civilian']/relations"> <relation faction="visitor" relation="-0.032" /> </add> <add sel="//faction[@id='hatikvah']/relations"> <relation faction="visitor" relation="-0.032" /> </add> <add sel="//faction[@id='holyorder']/relations"> <relation faction="visitor" relation="-0.032" /> </add> <add sel="//faction[@id='ministry']/relations"> <relation faction="visitor" relation="-0.032" /> </add> <add sel="//faction[@id='paranid']/relations"> <relation faction="visitor" relation="-0.032" /> </add> <add sel="//faction[@id='scaleplate']/relations"> <relation faction="visitor" relation="-0.032" /> </add> <add sel="//faction[@id='teladi']/relations"> <relation faction="visitor" relation="-0.032" /> </add> <add sel="//faction[@id='paranid']/relations"> <relation faction="visitor" relation="-0.032" /> </add> <add sel="//faction[@id='visitor']/relations"> <relation faction="player" relation="-0.5" /> <relation faction="alliance" relation="-0.032" /> <relation faction="antigone" relation="-0.032" /> <relation faction="argon" relation="-0.032" /> <relation faction="civilian" relation="-0.032" /> <relation faction="hatikvah" relation="-0.032" /> <relation faction="holyorder" relation="-0.032" /> <relation faction="ministry" relation="-0.032" /> <relation faction="paranid" relation="-0.032" /> <relation faction="scaleplate" relation="-0.032" /> <relation faction="teladi" relation="-0.032" /> <relation faction="visitor" relation="-0.032" /> </add> </diff> now visitors are not marked as enemy for your patrols, but makes them unfriend with other factions, so sector patrols won't be chasing after you or your ships if you kill a visitor. they will give you a reward instead.
I've not been meaning to ignore your posts here, I have been spending time with my family the last few days, and haven't gotten around to this. I will throw your changes in the mod and push the new version in a little bit. I'll also give you credit for this as well.
Sorry, no offence meaned. I didn't talk about "make those changes superfast!!!", I just saw no replies. Family is essential. Don't hurry, have the time.
No, it's not like that. If you have an egosoft account and enabled online features (in main menu), then if you have mods - you will not be able to send your ship on ventures, BUT other players, with no mods, can send their ships to your universe - those ship are visitors.
Yeah, and there's little point to sending out ships when modded universes kill them near instantly. I imagine they'll eventually disable ventures into modded universes or make it a toggleable option (for the person sending ships), because of this.
Visitors are ships that appear in your game as a result of the new online features added in v1.5 of the game. I talked a little more about it in the mod description as well, there's not a ton of info about what exactly the online features are/do at the moment. This mod makes it so the relations with visitor ships are always hostile ie, if you have ships patrolling your sector they will attack the visitors.

Or is it only to have them fail their mission ?
