I am no longer maintaining this mod, as such should you wish to fix it and reupload, you may do so to any platform either separately or in a pack, provided that you give me credit as the original author. As such I give no guarantee of functionality now or at any later time unless I resume maintaining this mod.
First of hi , I see this mod has yet to be updated to latest version, not sure if the modder is still active. So I was wondering how can I add the new split faction ships to this mod on my own?
If your save is more than a few (vanilla) versions old, then try starting a new game. A few builds ago, the vanilla automine function was broken. Also, sometimes miners take a while to find a station offering to buy whatever your miner is harvesting, I've seen mine take 10-15 minutes when I have too any miners running.
Same problem: Started a new game with (latest patch): Miners do not sell their ore - after 30 min... and there is an ore refinery in the same system. So it looks like there's a small bug. Please take a look - I love the mod's idea ;)
It doesnt touch the AI, but I'll look. Do you have any mods that touch AI behaviors? I have a range of other questions I need to get answers to before I try to replicate the issue. 1. Is there a certain amount that they fill to before they stall (percentage or number) 2. Have you tried disabling automine and then restarting it? (I know, it's a standard IT type question but humor me) 3. If you have AI mods installed, did you do so on a fresh start? (again, standard troubleshooting question) 4. Are there any other mods installed that touch the ships affected by this mod? 5. Have you visited and scanned the refinery in the sector to uncover trade offers?
I tested it, on the latest patch with a new start it's working fine with 1.3.2 check your other mods and give me a list if any of them touch AI behaviors
Good morning, so, lets start: (1) Both of my mining ships 100% full cargo. (2) Yes, tried to restart the AI.. no effect (3/4) No AI mods. My mods are: -Better scan colors -Better tractor beam -signal leak hunter -improved repair laser -more NPC -learning all the things (until the seminars are working) -improved satellites (5) Don't know... sorry
This is a longshot, but I think maybe your aiscripts either haven't updated or something is wonky, but this could fix it?
Set a key for Toggle Chat Window in Controls -> General -> Expert settings. Open the chat window with the key you set, then type /refreshaiand hit enter This reloads the game's AI scripts, so I'd set everything to not having orders before doing it, just as a precaution (probably not necessary, but merits a mention) Save your file and then load it
If it can't find enough places to sell all the stuff it's mined then it can break also, I've found. (possibly what's happening here ) I always set my pilots "gate distance" to as high as their level permits (usually anywhere from 15-30) so they will attempt to sell anywhere in the galaxy they can trade with (usually they will trade even if you haven't uncovered the stations too), doing this could alleviate that issue as well.
So, took some time to get money for the ships Sent ship to AutoMining Ship did its job until cargo was full AI freeze tried "/refreshai" -> worked. BUT.... ship has sold the ore, went back to mining field, filled cargo with ore, *AI freeze* And now "/refreshai" is doing nothing-nada-zero-null *wallbash* Any ideas?
P.S.: Is it possible, that the whole galaxy isn't buying iron ore? 'Cause with silicium it works.........
It is possible that there aren't enough stations buying ore, yes, but not likely. More likely if you have anything that causes you to be at war with more than just the Xenon, and Khaak right from the start. Especially if your new game is less than an hour or two old. Which miners are you using btw?
In an older build only the Argon medium miners were working so it could be a bug associated with the ship itself somehow. (though it seems that all the miners I've used have worked for the last several patches). Try testing automining with no mods and see if it's broken in your cat/dat files, if it's broken there, you could just need to verify your files. I really don't mind trying to help people with getting it working, it's sort of puzzling that it's catching on that.
I definitely prefer to set my miners to only mine silicon for the first few hours, more money for the time and effort, once the big silicon trade offers start to dry up, I switch all my miners to work on ore, silicon and ice. I can usually have 10 or so autominers in the 1-2 hours that way if I do a little crystal mining too.
Well, I am using the Argon Drill ships (I am playing a german version of the game) - it's the Argon M-class miner with two wings at the back. Meanwhile I have played a few hours, and with silicium only everything is fine. They mine, the sell, they mine.... I will try to set up a few more focusing on ice and iron. Thanks for your patience
hi any chance you could mod the thrust to go together with the upgraded cargo holds would be very much appreciated as is its imposible to fly a x5 or x10 at the moment as your thrust cant handle the extra weight
I haven't tested any long term runs with it (more than 10-15 hours) but the economy still "seems" to be working. It applies to all M size cargo and miner ships, including AI.
What do you mean by crew poaching if you don't mind me asking? (could just be something I wasn't using)
Before ver 1.30 you could dock on any ships and hire any crew (except for the captain) to crew your own. After the updates, they did away with that. I and many on the steam forums feels this is less immersive and now provides no reasons to seek and land on other ships.. Yes, you could hire crew on wharfs but they are usually low ratings.
Ah, I thought maybe you were referring to that, I'll look into it, but I can't make guarantees. In the meantime, there are a couple mods that increase the quality of people you'll find on docks and things.
Thanks for your efforts! Wanted to use it as a workaround for the bugged L-Miners. The mod increases Cargohold, when its full, the ship has a huge mass, but the thrust of the engines is not increased, resulting in barely moving ships. Or so it seems to me, when I tried the 10X cargohold version.
Thanks so much! I use the 2x L Ship capacity mod, and I was just about to request a 2x M ship mod haha. 10x is too much for me/too far outside the vanilla values, so I appreciate this!

Does this apply to the AI ships as well? If so, have you tested the impact on the galactic economy?
Since you take requests....In 1.30 crew poaching was taken away. Would it be possible to put it back?
