Honestly Ciri Becoming a Witcher is not a canon ending because as an empress she could do a lot and hell maybe we can even see ciri in the witcher 4 as an empress but not as a witcher and she could play a key role in the witcher 4 by joining the fights and providing her aid in battles
Of course it is a canon ending. There is no official statement and I don't think there is a canon ending as it is up to the players to decide which ending is their personal "canon ending".
In my opinion the Ciri Witcher ending is the best and most fitting ending to the Witcher series and books, but that's, just my opinion. Others may think that a disgruntled Ciri, forced married to that greasy Voorhis, would be a fitting end. To each their own I guess ;D
So this mod is just perfect for me, to see a wild, free and happy Ciri to set off with Geralt to reunite with Yen (or Triss, I know, I know^^). Thanks for sharing.
In the 'Empress' ending Ciri was originally supposed to marry Voorhis who would hold most of the power. Both endings are meh because Ciri either spends her time in a Nilfgaardian castle or in swamps hunting monsters for coin. The games entire ending section was very rushed, for example in the books the White Frost was supposed to be the burden of Ciri's children yet in game she just defeats it in 2 minutes because clearly CDPR ran out of decent yet alone good ideas by then.
I thought the Witcheress ending was terrible until I read the books and saw her ending there was the same. Still, I believe Ciri being empress is best but that does require the defeat of the North, something I do not want.
CDPR in general is far from a good company for both consumers and it's employees, just look at 2013 - 2014 in-game (vertical slices that were also semi-playable builds) trailers of Witcher 3 and compare them to what we got in retail then look at glassdoor reviews.
Witcher 2 for example had the entire 4th act cut out which is why we have the final conversation with Letho, originally we were actually supposed to see his motives in IIRC dol blathana instead of having a 10 minute conversation in a battle zone because by that point CDPR was broke and had to get bailed out by the Polish government.
The same went for Cyberpunk 2077, undelivering and making promises they are either incapable or do not intend of keeping is their entire company culture. The management especially went around and canceled projects on a whim even if they were >90% complete. Witcher 3 was more or less completely rewritten in 2014 to make the game more accessible to 'wider audiences' which is why it's such a mess in general, CDPR had to basically create a second game on the foundation of 2013 Witcher 3 yet at that point said foundation was also heavily changed.
The Catriona plague, Nilfgaard's war crimes, scoia'tael, literally most of Skellige's content etc etc were removed from Witcher 3. The game originally had a much darker tone focused on politics similar to Witcher 2, for example we found Ciri much earlier and were able to more directly help either Nilfgaard or Northern Kingdoms (Redania, to some extent Temeria) win the war. Radovid was more similar to his Witcher 2 version and not a 'trillions must die' Chud not to mention his entire assassination quest was way different.
CDPR was always a shady company with some potential and talented employees yet they decided to throw that away and go onto the stock market. The moment a company goes public it answers to it's investors and 3rd parties first and foremost, not consumers which is one of the reasons CDPR lies and makes plenty of laughably bad decisions, long term profits are not prioritized because the CEO and board of directors are going to bail in the short term anyway then hand the bag to their successors who are going to do the same exact thing so the only thing that matters to them is 'line going up'
Of course the issues with CDPR were there from the start due to core management, they only got worse after they went public. For example platform parity: Sony and Microsoft force publishers to sign parity agreements if they want to release stuff on their platforms so games do not look better on competitors hardware and that includes PC. The next gen patch was a joke because if they did go ahead and make a proper PC version CDPR would make consoles look bad and be held legally liable for breaching contracts and such. Not to mention Nvidia sponsored the game after they outbid AMD around 2014 so bringing back all of those fire and volumetric effects would cause questions like 'why did they invest into badly optimized and unfinished ray tracing instead of that?' which would make Nvidia look bad.
If CDPR wanted to they could have just released smaller games with higher production quality on GOG and Steam yet they decided to become another Ubisoft and EA instead. Consoles do not downgrade games, developers and publishers do yet nowadays consoles are just very small budget PCs due to using the same exact architectures for compatibility reasons. The 2013 build of Witcher 3 ran on a single 780 Ti btw.
I suggest you do research before going 'ahktually, that never happened' then give zero sources for your claims. The original story drafts leaked, look them up yourself if you wish.
And her seemingly going through the Trials, surviving and at this age - so much for lore-friendliness. But if the Elder Blood automatically makes her internal organs accept the highly dangerous and poisonous herbs and mushrooms that had been given to the young recruits years ago - on average, 3 out of 10 boys survived, the unfortunate others died horribly - sure, it's their vision. So was their vision with injecting 'Uma' with the Trials' herbs - not Mr Sapkowski's idea as well.
And ethically, putting Ciri through the Trials as most probably, a first woman ever (and in her 20's, in the books' lore, only male children had undergone the Trials), risking her life in such horrible process - uhm, I wouldn't choose that for my adopted daughter if I were the Witcher. She was trained in Kaer Morhen, has an already enhanced speed and powers, due to her being the Lady of Time and Space, and well, the Elder Blood in her veins. But yes, let's put her through the Trials, anyway, it's such a harmless process because she's got the Elder Blood.
Even though I'm also of an opinion she should become a witcher at the end of TW3 (without mutations, of course, she was supposed to begin a new generation of witchers, that leaves the old and non-ethical practice of the Trials behind), I pity the players who chose another ending for Ciri - it seems the choice was like choosing a different colour at the end of Mass Effect 3.
The fact that she literally became a Witcher makes no sense, as mutations don't work on women, and even more so with age. Why would Ciri want Witcher powers when she literally already has ultra-strong powers? But the worst thing isn't that, the worst thing is that she literally spits on the memory of Vesimir, whom she considered an uncle before he died, because he wanted to put an end to the herbal tests and he was the last one to know how to do them.
Sorry if my English is bad, I'm not a native English speaker, but I think you've understood me.
Neither endings are really canon. Based on the books alone, Ciri ends up as this adventurer/traveler in another word and by that means, Witcher would be more alike than ruler. Game Ciri, in my opinion, would never want to be empress. It feels like she's only doing it for others, not herself, and after spending years on the run, I think she'd want to spend it freely. It just seemed like a better ending for her character and a choice she'd alone make, to follow in the footsteps of maybe the most influential person in her life. As for the mutations and it not working on women, Ciri isn't a normal person. I'm sure her training as a Witcher and her powers has made it possible.
This mod breaks the game if you have any Gwent mod installed. And even after removing the mod, nothing is fixed, the cards are not restored. You have to load old saves to play Gwent normally in the dlc. I literally had to go back from Toussaint and replay the ending with Ciri the Witcher without this mod. It sucks.
Always check the "last updated" date. If it was after 15th December, then it is made for Next Gen, and if it's after 19th July 2023 or mention "4.04" in the description, then it's definitely Next Gen 4.04 Compatible.
This mod conflits with "Corvo BIanco Guests Extended" : https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/8464?tab=posts&BH=4 Who needs to have the highest priority between these two mods?
I second this, it is just way too much hassle merging a lot of non-conflict entries against Gwent Redux just for that single extra card. Reverted back to 1.1 for the time being.
I found there is a conflict to Base Appearances Special Expansion (it's a resource mod). Can you make a compatible version of it, please? This is needed, so I could add in the Essential Mod List.
I just wanted to say I was using Brother in Arms in my 8K upscaled video so anyone who curious if this mod and BiA compability with each other you can use them both together without thinking second time :)

Wow, here I thought I had high hopes for CDPR, but then again I was proven wrong.

@Lolzzl
There is no version of the game in which we found Ciri earlier. Quite the opposite, actually. You don't know what you are talking about.
