Not compatible with mods... Geralt Level Scales Enemy Scaling Overhaul and Level Cap Increase Starting weapons and armor with these mods will not scale properly. Pretty much any mod that change/modify leveling or scaling that affects Kaer Morhen gear will likely conflict and break mods mechanics. Excluding the ones under recommendations that work fine.
did you have to manually merge some scripts? are you sure all your mods with scripts are patched for the latest version? i would need more info in order to help.

So if I install the GM version it allows the armour to level up to GM? Where I'm also confused is if the GM version gives the armour more buffs/abilities from the start of the game? Or do they get added as it levels up?
the armors and weapons level up along with your character to maximum lvl 100. the grandmaster versions have the buffs from the different witcher schools. personally i only use the standard version. grandmaster version that have abilities from all the witcher schools and unlocked mutagen enhancements from blood and wine make it way too OP.
I'm using GM KMS version and for some reason my swords are invisible and in the inventory they are just green icons. I've installed the https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2581?tab=files&file_id=47149 (killing monsters swords appearance only) While merging i've chosen the GMKMS and then reinstalled and used KMA that didn't solve the problem. Any ideas?
Hello. Will it be possible to open access to the previous version of the mod with grandmaster abilities for swords? In this version, for some reason, the names of starting equipment items are not displayed in my inventory.
try out this mod for a possible fix. Custom Localization Fix. also check your xml merges to make sure the names of the items are properly selected from this mod. Part of the new version are the new name changes. if you still can't get it to work i can give access to previous version.
I have the same problem with 1. Standard Leveling Kaer Morhen Gear. With the old versions I didn't have this problem with the German names. The swords now only have a name like "silver sword" and "steel weapon".
Killing Monsters Arm Pads are a mesh/texture mod so of course it's compatible. As far as scaling mods, on the description page as well as the sticky note on top here are the listed compatible and incompatible scaling mods. Anything else is unknown and you would have to try it yourself and find out.

I'm using W3Mod Manager for armor it worked just installing it.
