V3 Color using old gen beard texture version released... for those experiencing beards turning black use this version. i don't have this problem but at the moment this is the only thing i think can fix the problem. tbh i personally use hairworks for beards.
V4 released I really think beards are good this time. keeping my fingers crossed.

**update** it's confirmed, beards are good now. Thanks AKBLT for quickly reporting the issue.

With latest update which color would be considered "milky white" when it comes to compability with DLC2 improved?

the default color of light preset would be best. so default light and dlc2 improved light combo.

Hello. I just tried to balanced preset and lite grey option from V3 files and the beard turned black so can I ask what am I doing wrong?

Edit: Also other color options has this issue aswell.

Okay. Are the other colors doing the same thing per chance? I’ll take a look when I get home from work later tonight. Sorry about that.
      **update**
it works fine for me. perhaps the zip file or upload got corrupted. i used 7z this time to package them. tested lite grey on balanced and should be good to go.

Nope I still have same problem. I tried to give high priority this time but still I had black beard for Geralt.

That is strange. I don’t understand what it could be. I tested the 7z before uploading and it was good. I wonder if others are experiencing the same problem. I’m not sure if you do this or not but once I overwrite the texture cache file I “repack” mods in script merger.

Also tried to use 7z but it didn't solve to my problem also I couldn't see whats reason repacking mods in scripts related mods with this mod unless if you mean something else of course also I asked if someone check your mod on Wolven Workshop Discord server and see if them will get similar problem.

I usually do it whenever I install a new mod or any change anything. When I test these mods it usually prevents crashes that I get sometimes so I just started to do it every time. It’s likely a placebo thing. But I will download the new version from the nexus server when I get home from work and see if I get the same problem.

You have quite a lot mods you use if I assume correctly so maybe a conflict with something else. Another way I use to test mods was having a separate install of the game where I can test mods with a clean version.

I think I see what’s wrong. Likely the new coloring method I use is not suitable for the beard textures. I’ll fix it when I get home in a few hours.

all done now. i kept the recoloring the original way with the beards and DLC2 hairstyles. i don't think they benefitted and the beards seemed to really not like it.

i know what it is. in the original colors i used the "old gen" texture for the beard. now i'm using the nextgen texture. so the problem is the nextgen beard texture is what's making his beard darker. i posted a screenshot to show. i'll go back to the "old gen" texture asset for the beard coloring.
as you can see v3 beard is much like v2nextgen beard but the original v2 is old gen beard texture.

ok here is comparison between "old gen" and nextgen beard texture. nextgen is a bit darker but not black for me. i'm not sure why yours turns black so much. but i will make a batch using the old gen texture for the beard and hopefully fix the issue.

It’s more concerning because it’s not making sense to me at all. I’m also curious to see if others are having the same issue as you. For now I’m out of ideas. I could try to uncook v2’s colors and use that but I’ve already reverted back to same beard texture with the latest v3 so I don’t think it would do any good. Sorry man.

May I ask which combination of files did you use? Naming conventions are a bit confusion to me. If I'm getting this right, the correct way is to:
      1. Install a Preset (Either 1 or 2 - Light or Balanced)
      2. Download 4a or 4b, select color (say Vanilla), then copy "texture.cache" and overwrite it in mod/content folder from step #1

Yup select the preset you want. And if you want to have a different hair color replace the texture cache with one from the colors downloads.

I can make one but since I don’t use it I have no way of testing it. I did some changes to specular values that I’m not sure how those hairstyles would look. Some of them have very different values compared to vanilla hair and beard.

Good day! I truly enjoy the b. V2 Balanced preset of yours, it literally fits Geralt perfectly! However, i'm very curious if u accept requests. I'm wondering if you could make something akin to this except for the Shaved on the sides, short on top, and a pony tail hairstyle. I think the hair on the sides are highlit somewhat too drastically while standing in the shade. https://imgur.com/a/mENHM8i It's worthwhile noting that i use immersive lighting as well as GERALT 4K RETEXTURE which make color adjustments to the overall look, so there might not be a whole lot of ppl with a similar plea, it's strictly personal.

You would like the side hair removed? Or for me to adjust the specular highlight to darken them?

I'd be fine with either of the suggested options, really. But, originally, i was asking for the side hair complete removal, if possible. Do forgive me if i wasn't clear.

if you want the scalp to be bald you'd have to have a mod for that but the hairs can be removed. i'll make a version like that when i get home from work later today.

I appreciate you! Just for the clarification's sake, i'm not looking for Geralt to be totally bald, like here , but rather for him to be rid of the side hair which is a part of a hairstyle, not his scalp model. Basically, like this one https://imgur.com/gEH3pg7 except for the Shaved on the sides, short on top, and a pony tail hairstyle https://imgur.com/1fFXbJW

ok, you want the hair on the sides of HoS hairstyle to have no hairs got it.

Hey again, big thank you for the update! Using Balanced preset seems to have resolved an "issue". Now the hair on the sides doesn't look as prominent and blends with the scalp quite well, have kudos!  https://imgur.com/AJQ4S0p

I got a little confused, but then I installed the old version, and in general, it seems to me, I first installed one version, then the other - combined, changed and now I like everything. And I used to like everything. I prefer very white hair and beard.Thank you very much, you are doing great!

As always thank you for such kind words. How do you like the Uber Light present? From your posted pictures it appears you like the version with no strands.

Hello. Could you please add Disable Geralt Hairworks Hair but Beard On option as miscellaneous file?

Edit: I requested this because when I use your mod with another Hairworks Beard On mod I encountered this like hair:

I really like this mod as this fixes everything was wrong with geralt's  hair and textures. Great job!
Would you consider making a version with his hair strands added back ,as you had in your old mod? it kinda gives him more style?

    Thank you in advance
