To achieve walking mode, the mod simulates that you're inside a building. The game then locks you speed to walking, but also enforces a close camera view. I cannot prevent this, without changing this mod to also be a complete camera mod. The game code just doesn't work like that, it's not just a "toggle".
But if you don't like this close camera during walking, I do have a solution: Use my custom camera mod that will let you pick from 4 different camera distances, and more: Minimalist Camera.
Can you walk after using this mod? No matter how I switch the option, I can't switch between walking and running, only running and sprinting. I'm using a keyboard by the way.
Maybe you are right. But I use this mod so that I don't have to hold down left shift to sprint. After I installed this mod, I found that I could no longer press ctrl to switch between running and walking. I don't know if this mod has a bug or I didn't install it correctly.
The second setting doesn't work for me (keyboard/controller: hold Sprint) for the CONTROLLER. And everything works on the keyboard. Moreover, if I set the fourth setting (double tap), then the second setting (hold) starts working.
You didn't install it correctly or didn't run script merger afterwards. This error indicates an issue with the file r4Player.ws. If you also have other mods that change this file, then script merger should fix this. If not, then probably it's not installed correctly.
would like to see a version that swaps the controls. so, you jog(L-Click) and sprint (A).
my reasoning is that in confined spaces I find that when I jog (A) I accidently read signs or open containers, and sprinting is in the open so using A to sprint would work better and left click to jog to prevent this from being a problem. I would also like to add that it's not necessarily a mod issue being that (A) is the normal sprint key in the base game. however a fix would be cool.
Hmmm, its unfortunate you can not use the default cam for exploration without it being extremely zoomed in. However i found that if you set the camera to close in your settings it actually does zoom out a little bit and i found that to be the perfect balance. So that is a good solution for it, thanks for this mod i hated geralt running everywhere as i felt like it really broke my immersion. Noticed i also do not need the ModMenuStrings mod.
Did you see the pinned post above? That's also something to deal with the cam range! If you don't have ModMenuStrings you don't see the Options menu for the mod. Or actually, the menu item is there but the name is not visible. But if it does what you need, no reason to change. :)
I tried the mod for controller.. it’s definitely better than vanilla, but I think it also feels not as smooth to press an additional button or double tap it.
So instead I adjusted the Stick Curve preset in Steam Input so the radius for walking is larger. Now it’s perfect for me :).
I swiched walk to shift instead of control and it overwrote the horse gallop key... had to manually edit the ini files to make both actions use the Shift key
how do you uninstall this mod correctly? Some of the control related tweaks seem to remain even after a reinstall of the game. Can't call roach but if i reinstall this mod i can call her again.
Edit: Nvm it's not this mod just happens that reinstalling better walking fixes lol

I have no idea what the problem is.
