Novigrad city even today is the most demanding area in the game, nowhere else there is such a density and number of all kinds of assets. To increase performance, Reds created special, optimised (that is downgraded) crowd entities from which NPCs in the city spawn; the majority of appearances in those entities are merely variations of one particular look, ie. same head and same clothes copy-pasted multiple times with minor changes like colors or different cap. This mod links back the original, unused crowd entities and thus vastly increases the amount of unique civilians roaming the streets. My mod is similar to Low Quality Community Characters Redone by Divergent444, the main difference is that he edited those downgraded entities by replacing low quality models with normal, higher quality components, while I entirely discarded those downgraded entities and reconnected the original ones instead, which means significantly more unique appearances.
Additionaly, I also fixed a few community-related bugs, most notably the abundance of butlers in exclusive district.
The mod is about 80% done, editing every single entity and then checking it in-game is quite time consuming, so I have left a few types of NPCs untouched, since they are mostly a rare kind and you don’t notice them unless you know where to look - in future I may update the mod with remaining ones and possibly also with some bugfixes and changes to spawntrees in order to make streets and districts even closer to their original, pre-downgrade vision when it comes to NPCs.
I've tested the mod from multiple different angles to ensure I didn’t create any new bugs by mistake, but if I missed something please let me know and provide a screenshot so I know which appearance needs a fix.
