Great mod sir. No performance issues and varied characters with colors that do not ruin the immersion. Very well done, unlike the original mod that breaks the performance of my PC. Thank you very much and greetings.

Amazing job. Appreciate all your hard work that went into this. And thank you.

One question, based on your description, does this mean that Low Quality Community Characters mod is unnecessary if I'm using this? Or is it still a good idea to have that one as well as this?
    1. Yes, it is unnecessary. I have no idea about performance technicalities, my game is stuttering in Novigrad regardless if I use the mod or not, but since Reds downgraded civilians then it must have at least minor impact, in which case LQCCR is a middle ground between this and vanilla.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there seems to be a misunderstanding as to how my LCQQR mod works. I've not just upgraded the quality of the boring duplicate NPCs, I've in fact changed them to the exact same models you are using here. In short, this is an almost exact duplicate of my mod.
    4. @Divergent444 Open my mod and see the difference for yourself. You had modified \community\ subsection of crowd_npc, ie you had modified downgraded entities by replacing low quality duplicate appearances to the ones taken from the general entity of specific NPC type - let's take novigrad_rich_man for example:
      characters\npc_entities\crowd_npc\novigrad_citizen\community\novigrad_citizen_rich_community.w2ent
      characters\npc_entities\crowd_npc\novigrad_citizen\novigrad_citizen_rich.w2ent
The first one is the downgraded one, it contains 15 appearances, majority of them use background character models; you've swapped those low quality apps to high quality ones taken from the second, original entity, which has 20 appearances. I completely disconnected novigrad_citizen_rich_community.w2ent from all kinds of NPC types that reference it in gameplay\community\community_npcs\novigrad\ and reconnected the original one instead.

What's the difference? In novigrad_rich_man case it's 5 additional appearances, in novigrad_citizen_woman it's 1 additional, novigrad_poor_man it's 5 additional, in novigrad_rich_woman it's 6 addtional and so on - again, I urge you to check for yourself and see the method I used. I also made some fixes, compare my novigrad_girl_rich to yours for example.

Ok, I have done an in-depth investigation into the degree of similarities between my LQCCR mod and this mod:
This mod (as of yet) does not include any HoS or BaW files.
For the vanilla game, about 75% of this mod is identical to my mod. This mod has 832 character appearances for gameplay\community characters, whereas my mod has 627.
There are 12 gameplay\community files that contain LQ characters that were omitted from this mod, but were included in mine.
This mod (as of yet) contains no quest files that include LQ characters, whereas my mod does.
This mod does not include any character\npc_entities files, that could possibly result in the new HQ character appearances not showing up in some cutscenes.
All-in-all I believe the degree of duplication of concept and content, warrants that I receive due credit.
    6. @Divergent444 and you will not get it, princess. Just because you happened to have the same idea earlier doesn't mean that everybody should now bow to you and revere you for being some sort of a "founding father". When someone retextures an armor, does he also need to credit all previous modders who did the same thing? Of couse not, especially that I had to implement all those appearances from the ground up due to using much better method, which resulted in (as you yourself admitted) 205 additional appearances in the pool. Everybody can open our mods, compare them and see the big difference in content even though the concept is the same.

I've linked your mod in the description so people can compare mine to yours, I also stated that it affects only Novigrad and Oxenfurt and that my mod is finished in about 80% - what wrong can you accuse me of?

There is a rule in Nexus that prevent any plagiarism and Divergent444 is capable to report for this reason.
    8. ElementaryLewis so you advise him to report my mod just for having the same general idea, but an execution by entirely different method which results in significantly more content? really? we are not talking about new assets, but the kind of them that sit unused in the game files

everyone can easily check for themselves how different the entities in our mods are and if Divergent444 is angry that he didn't properly examine the community structure before making his LQCCR then I am at fault? nobody has a monopoly for a specific mod category

First of all, it is clear that you are unfamiliar with the rules and policies of NexusMods.

Secondly, your claim that I am somehow unfamiliar with the community file structure is as arrogant as it is absurd. You and I both sourced our appearances from the exact same characters\npc_entities files (which I call the base files). You simply cut-pasted the whole Appearances, UsedAppearances, and VoicetagAppearances from the base files into the gameplay\community files, whereas I hand-picked only the number of appearances originally in the gameplay\community file, from those exact same base files - a process that was far more energy- and time-consuming than your method. Sourcing character appearances from the same files is exactly the reason why 75% of our appearances are identical.

My motivation for not increasing the number of appearances was a design choice and not a matter of ignorance. It was done for the following reasons:
      1) My mod's sole purpose was to replace LQ characters with HQ characters, and not to increase their variety, so as to stay as close as possible to the original style and vision of the game. These design considerations also featured in CDPR's own approach, as they had a reason for choosing to make gameplay\community files generally smaller than the base files.
      2) My LQCCR mod was a commission from the BiA bug fix team, to make a mod that complemented their mod and was fully compatible with the BiA mod. Adding more appearances would have drastically reduced BiA compatibility.
      3) I did not want to run the risk of introducing spawning and/or other bugs, by messing with the number of characters spawned.
      4) Fairly early on in experimenting with my mod, I realised that upgrading the LQ characters to HQ, put a significant strain on the game engine, especially in Novigrad. Adding more appearances would have increased this strain, which was something I wanted to avoid at all costs.

Also, in many of your files, the number of extra appearances introduced, imho, is unnecessary and excessive. I really don't see the need for 26 different appearances for Novigrad pimps, where CDPR's vision was for only 3 different appearances.

If you had consulted with me before embarking on this product, I would have been open to a co-operative effort, as I had also been planning on possibly releasing a more varied version of my mod in the future. The belligerent attitude you revealed in your last post, as well as your clear disregard for rules and policies, has however prompted me to lodge an official complaint. A pity really, that it had to come to this, as I had been very civil and patient about this blatant plagiarism thus far.

It's a pity and a shame to leave this mod too. It has the potential and I wish you would cooperate, instead of fighting each other about "my mod is better than yours".

I understand the point of view, I also think it's a shame for the Witcher 3 community, a fusion of these 2 mods would be great, but that's the way it is, you have to respect the rules.
      (excuse my bad english)
    12. Divergent444
You were civil, but I was not, eh? Whatever you want to believe, people can see for themselves who attacked first.
You simply cut-pasted the whole Appearances, UsedAppearances, and VoicetagAppearances from the base files into the gameplay\community files, whereas I hand-picked only the number of appearances originally in the gameplay\community file, from those exact same base files - a process that was far more energy- and time-consuming than your method
This part here shows how little you know about my work. "What I did required much more energy" - no comment on that, people who know a thing or two about editing entities will laugh at this claim.

Go on, it was you who started this war, you know very well how different my mod is to yours, but your pride hurts so you conviniently wave the proper founding father narrative. By reporting me, you are hurting others who want more varied NPCs, I don't care what happens to this mod, I did it for myself.

Illuzio What rules are you talking about? It's different execution from technical standpoint as stated before.
There are  a ton of mods that do same things with minor differences in games like Skyrim, Fallout, Oblivion, and so down it goes.
Should we ban all mods that improve LOD except one just because of common idea?
      This is absurd.
Both mod authors did their job well, and they even argue exactly how their mods ARE different!
Is this me or some people here can't follow the discussion?

If this mod didn't re-cycled assets and code created by another mod author, then any talk about plagiarism is simply non sense.
There is no copyright on ideas.

It reads like a Skyrim modding thread ...... One thing I always admired about the Witcher 3 modding community is they were above this kind of nonsense

The reality is the ONLY ones that own anything to do with the Witcher 3 game is CDPR ..... Modding their games is a privilege NOT a Right and you really have no Rights or copyrights to any mod for any game ..... The license you agreed to when you installed any game makes that crystal clear

I hope the author will find time to improve on this mod.. Most of the work seems to already be done. Would be a shame if it became abandon ware after >70% of appearances are already edited.

A superb addition of restored content!

Ultra-density crowds in Novigrad really feel nicer now with far fewer clones. I did spot some T-posing once but it resolved itself within seconds.

    Endorsed.

First of all love the Mod. Adds very much needed immersion.

I’m getting crashes however in very specific locations in Novigrad with the mod enabled : near the notice board closest to the docks, Near the fast travel location Close to Tretogor Gate, any of the bridges leading to Hierach Square , and finally the bridge that leads to seven cats. However I can fast travel to skip these bridges and everything works until I try to walk over to the next sections again…
Disabling the mod it all goes fine however.
