The mod only modifies Close Camera presets, and as such it only affects Exploration (Walk, Run, Sprint, Focus, Swimming cameras), Combat (basic camera) and horse riding (Idle, Gallop, Canter Cameras) and only if the appropriate presets are chosen in the game options.
Installation:
The mod is light in terms of script-merging as it can be and should merge automatically with the vanilla game and many other mods. However, it might be incompatible with other heavy script mods that touches the camera (immersive Cam or Absolute Camera) - that's, unfortunately, for you to find out.
- Download the main file archive and extract its 'bin', 'dlc' and 'mods' into your 'The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt' main directory
- Open Script Merger, refresh and re-merge any conflicting files
- Navigate to the 'Witcher 3' folder (where the gamesaves are) located in your documents ('..\Documents\The Witcher 3')
Copy contents of the 'Input.txt' file from the archive into the very beginning of your 'input.settings' file, save the file - 1) Navigate to the 'The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\'
Copy contents of the 'menu.txt' file from the acrhive into the 'input.xml' file right before <!-- [BASE_CharacterMovement] --> line
2) Add the following line to the end of both 'dx11filelist.txt' and 'dx12filelist.txt' files:modANGCamera.xml;OR simply use this utility
Upon the first game run, the mod will apply the default settings, which can be tweaked later
How to use:
The adjustable cameras are:
- Exploration - Walk, Run, Sprint, and Focus mode
- Horse Riding - Walk, Gallop and Canter
- Combat - always uses only one camera preset (as it is made for the Combat Close preset by the CDPR)
The Camera position can be tweaked either from the Mod Menu or in Game using the Key-binds
From the Mod Menu:
You can individually and independently tweak camera position along all three axes for all the sub-states; or use the Walk Preset as the default for all states - for this option enable "Use only values above, ignore values below" in the mod settings, this option also affects the in-game tweaking.
In-Game Tweaks:
Default Key-Binds:
- Alt for Exploration and Swimming
- F3 for Combat and Horse Riding
- The Mod allows you to change camera position along all 3 axes. By Default, Y-axis (Close/Far) is selected
- Hold the Key-bind based on your current game-state ( ALT/ F3) and Scroll Mouse wheel to alter the camera position along the currently selected axis.
- Double-tap the Key to switch the axis along which the camera adjustments are made. An in-game notification will notify you about the currently selected axis. Repeat Step 2 to tweak camera position along the newly selected axis
You can repeat this step to tweak camera position along all 3 axis. - After adjustments, the active axis will be reverted to the default Y Axis, so you can dynamically change the camera distance close or far to the player, by using the key-bind and the scroll wheel during exploration, in a manner almost similar to Skyrim
- You can change the axis revert time or disable it in the mod menu along with the in-game notification hints
- This method allows to tweak all the above mentioned cameras, e.g. when you're running or sprinting, unless the "Use only values above, ignore values below" option is enabled
N.B : There are some settings marked as Gamepad Only - I don't use a gamepad, so these values might need to be tweaked as and when needed by gamepad users. You are welcome to share your presets, if you find the mod useful for gamepads.
