Bad news for people who use Book Inspired Medallion like me. I messaged the author about making a compatibility patch with this mod and this is his response: "Sure, it is doable but I'm not interested in making it. My stance hasn't changed, I have no problem offering compatibility with DLC's, but I don't do it with mods. For the simple reason, that compatibility with a DLC can be added to the main file directly, while compatibility with a mod would force me to make different versions of the mod, or upload separated patches. I don't want to do that. Because if I do it for one mod, why wouldn't I do it for other mods? I don't want to go this path, too much unnecessary extra work."
I respect his wish so I'm leaving the message here for the people to not get their hope up.
Hello, for the Killing Monster pads, I noticed the cloth sleeve below has different texture below the pads and from the elbow to the wrist, with sharpening on. Is it something that can be fixed? It looks like a leather sharpening is happening to the upper sleeve. Also is there a chance for an Original Kaer Morhen/Viper version (pre v1.20 downgrade for dye purposes)?
The Killing Monsters mesh had to do some peculiar stuff with textures and materials because in the vanilla mesh, there is no cloth under the shoulder pads, just empty space. The modder who I borrowed this from had to make new meshes for these parts. I won't be able to make changes to it without breaking it one way or another. sry As for 1.20 downgrade, I'd have to see how time consuming that workflow would be before I can say anything for sure.
After intensive search I found the Kaer Morhen set there Original Witcher Armor sets colors at The Witcher 3 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com) and it's fully compatible with your killing monster vanilla accessories version and the belt. You've done an amazing job with your mod!!! I hope one day all you the authors collab and create the ultimate starting Geralt version into one mod.
yup but if not compatible with the current version of hoods it won't toggle anymore. but nevertheless this the best KM Viper mod because the front part shoulder pads doesn't clip anymore in most cut scenes when geralt is sitting or kneeling while investigating feels like it has physics, this is the only KM Viper mod that can do that.
the stomach looks fat, i think its because the front chain looks wider and the sewing is too straight unlike the back where the sewing is curved in shapes
So, after testing your meshes in-game for hours, I think I found a couple of things that could be quality improvements.
First, the shading of the leather on the crotchpad, kneepads, and boots doesn't match the rest of the leathery parts of the armour, especially under shadows. Only the leathers on the pants and boots have this issue. The rest of the armour is fine. This could be the way it is with vanilla meshes too, but I'm not sure. I also tested your meshes with various texture mods and the results were all the same. Thus, I believe the problem comes from the material data and parameters within the mesh itself. This is bugging my eyes so much. XD Here's a screenshot (only your mod, with no texture mod):
Second, would it be possible to have similar width of the belly chainmail as it is on vanilla? I mean, I'm not sure how to explain it like a modder, but maybe trim the sides a bit so that the belly chainmail is narrower and doesn't cover the stitchings on the leather bordering it too much? Here's another screenshot to get my point across better.
Don't get me wrong, I love this mod so much and maybe I'm nitpicking, but I feel that this is so close to being perfect. If you could fix these issues, I'd really appreciate it (as many other users would too, I believe). Thanks in advance, man! Keep up the excellent work! Hope you can make the other witcher armours tailor-made as well!
Hi! Good catch, I never noticed the shading issue. Noted.
It's also funny you should point out the belly chainmail, because I decided just about a week ago to slim down the sides of the armor to vanilla measurements for aesthetical reasons. When I'm done, the width of the chainmail will fall right back into place.
As for the other 1.32 witcher armors, they pretty much fit vanilla Geralt already. I might slim down the Forgotten Wolf Armors at some point, but for the original armors that could use an inch of breathing space, I have something else planned to make Geralt comfy in them...
Nice! Happy to know that you agree with my points! Now I'm actually super excited on seeing the updated version in full glory. Can't wait! Guess I'll be reloading your modpage day in and day out til it comes. XD Also, looking forward to the other armours as well, for sure! Thanks again, man!
cool mod i really like it, but it´s just me or i see zero diference between vanilla and killing monsters pad? also i would love a vanilla accesories one(i dont know if the 2021 one is compatible)
The difference is shown in the screenshots. Killing Monsters Pads are lined up at an angle rather than bound flat against the arm. And there already is a vanilla accessories variant within every one of these files.

EDIT: lol omg nexus is messing up my comment
EDIT: Trying mesh only versions removed laces from viper armor too,..
Good job, man.
Endorsed!
