"DRFire9001, why the hell would you do this?!"
"Why not?", is my answer. In a more serious tone, since finishing Hearts of Stone I wanted to see more of Iris, and thought her appearance fits quite well with the personality of Yennefer. I also enjoy programming and this was my excuse to try some Witcher 3 modding.
I am aware there is another mod here on Nexus that does the same (here, kudos to the author!). Problem is, that mod uses a head version of Iris which does not include her neck (most probably due to it possibly interfering with Iris' default outfit). Simply put, that means that in scenes where Yen is nude or using her default outfits, when using Iris' head, the character is either neckless or you have to use some props to hide the gap. Horrible results, either way. That prompted me to dig a bit further and, lo and behold, I managed to find a proper head model for dear Iris.
Also, Yen will continue to use her default outfits. I only modified the head/hair references. All the rest should remain intact (including Yen's outfits and accessories). If any of you want her to wear Iris' default outfit, just give me a shout and I'll see what I can do! Likewise, if you encounter any issues, just let me know.
Requires Hearts of Stone, for obvious reasons.
Instructions:
- Download package;
- extract the folder "modYENasIRIS" to your "Mods" folder (which, in turn, should be located in your Witcher 3 installation directory);
- start up the game and DISABLE the Yen Alternative Look DLC (if you have it on);
- Enjoy!
Known issues/advice:
- Prerendered cutscenes will show original Yen. What I suggest is downloading the mod Immersive Real-Time Cutscenes (or any other that enables real-time cutscenes) to overcome this minor inconvenience;
- This mod is NOT COMPATIBLE with other appearance replacer mods! Goes without saying, really. If you want to use this, remove any other ones you might have installed PRIOR to using mine!
