I have added a new version of the preset specifically made for Next-Gen. The Old-Gen version of the preset is still available for download if needed.

The newest version definitely looks better and more balanced. No more washed/bloomed out sky and textures.

Slight problem though. It lags and stutters like crazy in the inventory menu. No idea why this happens. But I do know it's from this reshade. Any fix?

    Using lastest Reshade 5.4.1 btw

Hi Inchun, I just checked and the problem is with ReShade itself, they messed something up in the latest version. It will probably get fixed in the future, but meanwhile you can look for an older version of ReShade to use. I made the preset on version 5.1, which was stable.

Edit: I tested 5.4.0 and that one runs fine. You can look for it on the techspot website.

The Next-gen update fixed the problems with ambient occlusion and aliasing, but the HDR and sharpening are still relevant. Simply disable SMAA and MXAO in the ReShade menu if you're using it on next-gen.

For v1.3 I have tweaked the HDR settings to look more natural and changed the sharpening filter to another, which I find better looking.
    * v1.3.1 includes a small tweak to the sharpening settings.
    * v1.3.2 includes small tweaks to the shaders. Also sorry for 1.3.1, I somehow uploaded the wrong preset file.
    * v1.3.3 restores the initial style of shadowing of the mod. It's probably the last update, I don't think I can squeeze any more quality out of the current shaders.

I have updated the preset to be compatible with newer ReShade versions. I have also added in HDR.

Sadly ReShade have done some major changes that mess up my setting. Your best bet is to install the legacy shaders when prompted, then hope my files work. I tried installing the mod on my own pc this morning, but it seems the ambient occlusion shader(MXAO) isn't working properly anymore. I might look into a fix at some point, if I have the time.

If you use the reshade, do you turn Ambient Occlusion in the regular game settings on or off?

It shouldn't matter. I think I had SSAO selected when I made the shots.

Thanks for this reshade profile! The AO is really nice but it brings my avg FPS down a full 10 FPS, from 75 to 65 FPS @ 3440x1440 with a single 1080 Ti. It does look better with it on but it's just not worth the FPS loss. Maybe after upgrading to Ampere GPU this year I will keep that effect turned on.

The “after” shots look much better with the added AO, but I am also dreading the added performance impact.

How many FPS are you guys losing after installing this preset? Thanks!

Yeah, the mod is fairly expensive. At 1080p on my 1070 ti, the fps went down from ~95fps to ~80.

Thank you very much for the reply!

Well, I figured it must be expensive, all of that nice extra AO cannot come free. :/

There's not much I can do about that without changing the game lighting. You can try disabling bloom and chromatic aberration.
