About this mod

This Reshade preset aims to fix the lackluster ambient occlusion(missing shadows) in Witcher 3, while also adding SMAA for better anti-aliasing, and slight color adjustments to make the graphics look sharper and less washed out.

Performance disclaimer:
This mod has a considerable performance cost. At 1080p, performace might drop by as much as 20 fps in some scenes, so make sure you have a good enough GPU.

Installation:
1. Download ReShade(https://reshade.me/).
2. Install ReShade into your game (run installer, select 'witcher3.exe' as target).
Make sure to download the legacy shaders, then select DX10/11/12.
3. Copy my files to the folder containing witcher3.exe(e.g. <game folder>/bin/x64).
4. Run the game, press Home to toggle ReShade UI, and make sure Ninja_Reshade preset is selected in the 'Home' menu.

Notes:
1. Using in-game SSAO together with the mod seems to yield the best results in terms of shadow coverage(The screenshots were also made with SSAO on).
2. Be aware that the SMAA shader has a slight negative effect on the UI text readability, it's a limitation of ReShade. If you can't put up with it, disable the SMAA shader in the ReShade Home menu by unchecking it.
