is there a way to use this mod to reduce the NPC's loaded up in the game, i'm playing the new gen version of the game and for some reason, they added a s#*! load of NPC's into the cities and i want to reduce them so my game can at the very least run at a higher fps, because right now it runs like dog s#*!, 30 to 20fps most of the time while in novigrad.
before the upgrade i used to get 50 to 45fps in this location consistently, but now it's unplayable and actually makes me physically ill to play that low all the time.
Maybe I am not looking hard enough, but even with this mod installed I have NPCs dropping out of the literal sky to appear in front of me. I am also seeing hanged corpses T-posing in the background... anyone know if this is a side effect of this mod?
What does this mod do exactly? I'm sorry to be rude but the English in the description is..... bad..... and it does not give me a clear explanation. Does this mod fix NPC pop in? Yes or no. The description says all this other stuff but not that exactly. What does this mod fix?
To be honest, I also don't know what it does. The picture are all over the place - that's not how you do screenshot comparisons! The pictures shouldn't be different, they should be identical with clear view of what's happening. So in my case, the picture comparison is also... bad.
That's not true. It simply increases LOD distance, maybe even autoHideDistance (distance at which an object is automatically hidden to save on performance).
It increases the view range of certain things related to npc. For example, in vanilla first the guard spawns/is visible. If you walk a bit close, his helmet will spawn. (So when guard spawns it looks like he inst wearing the helmet). This mod fixes that
Well, you should definitely try IDD, as it greatly improves the visuals for W3, with almost no performance hit (just avoid the ultra distance function).
I would advise to use the lod for IDD, and also use increased draw distance. I would recommend the toissant version. https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3425
Even if you set increased draw distance to a lower value (for example if your frame rate drops to much with the super distance on) it still seems to fix thing better when used together with this mod for npc lod
So far, this mod seems to work great. The issues people have with whole Buildings/Bridges/etc not loading in seems related to Bootstrap. You need to use the sccripthooked version instead of the normal one. I wrote a small guide on how i made it work on the Increased DRaw Distance mod page.
Sorry for late reply. You can find it on the normal bootstrap page. At files there is different versions of that fix. The first is the normal version, there is a version that does not alter the map, and there is the scripthooked version. The lod mods and other range mods all seem to work better with scripthooked version of bootstrap.
Sometimes there are additional NPCs spawn during cutscenes before they are promptly removed by game, most noticeable when doing Novigrad quests, kinda annoying when it happens (immersion breaking). Otherwise a solid mod, significant improvement over vanilla. Endorsed. If the cutscene NPC bug could be fixed (maybe there's a way to force vanilla LOD in cutscenes instead of using increased LOD), this would be perfect.
