Hello Feregorn. I'm currently making a XBM changed list for the 1.32 vs 4.0 Changelog. And I have good news. They only upscaled the crow and sparrow, without changed the texture. Since your mod also upscaled the texture, I can confirm this mod is Next Gen Compatible. Congrats.
Hahahahaha thanks man! These looks so much better. I noticed the bats looked like a$$ as well. XD Guess they thought it wasn't going to be zoomin in on too much?
You are right, so to avoid confusion I archived all versions except the latest (main) version! After all, the whole merge thing was from a forgotten era that's long gone.
W3 Modding Lore: In the far past, the game had an actual hardcoded limit for the number of simultaneous mods a user could load, so one had to manually merge some of their mods in order to drop below that threshold once exceeded, otherwise they would suffer through infinite loading, worsening visual glitches, etc. This was resolved by a few clever hacks and the next-gen update has supposedly lifted this limit for good.
TLDR: Don't worry about the mergeable versions or whatever, there is now ONLY one version to choose from. And from early reports it is working fine with the Next-Gen update (v4.0), so what are you waiting for??? Get those HD Birdz and change your life for the better!!!
Thanks. Wasn't sure if you meant script merging or mod merging... I'm still on 1.32, and I'm actually dealing with the mod limit issue, because at 200-300 mod .bundles or metadata.stores, the game won't launch and becomes instable, even with mod limit adjuster.
Unfortunately, it seems I won't be using this mod, sadly, because I was told HD Animals Reworked also has HD models for all the birds. Unless you can convince me to do otherwise.
The HD Animals Reworked mod doesn't hold a candle to this mod as it's a very basic mesh and texture sharpening mod.
This is the BEST and ONLY Birdz mod on nexus and the reason for this is self-evident (ie screenshots), but if you don't believe me, just try both mods out.
Both mods can work together, as long as you give higher priority to my mod.
Lastly, don't forget to check out my other E3 HD Cows mod, same arguments apply!
Imo mod merger and merged DLC is still needed because of the hard mod limit, if you don't want to compromise. Was so even with mod limit fix and still is so in next gen 4.01.
Thanks for your kind words mate! And wow, didn't know that the next-gen edition still needs all the old mod limit workarounds to get everything to play nicely! That's very sad (and ludicrous) from CDPR...
