One of my biggest problems with the vanilla lighting is the overabundance of fog clouding the distance. It is very close for comfort and makes the game look very fake at the worst of times. In my opinion the normal version of Extended View Distance fog has the best amount of distance fog. WLM 3.3 has just a little more than it should. Here's a comparison:
The reason for the level of the fog in this mod is to cover up the awful low quality LoD trees that appear everywhere. It was very noticeable in early versions of STML where all fog was removed. Eventually the need for some fog and DoF was determined to be necessary to help hide the low quality LoD, increasing overall visual fidelity by way of consistency in image quality.
The levels of fog have been manipulated frequently in the various versions of this mod, just as they have in older STML versions. I know that this answer may not have been what you were seeking. There are certainly people who would prefer there to not be fog as they do not mind the low quality LoD. If you have any aptitude in modding I will say that editing the fog in the env files is one of the easier tweaks to make. If you enjoy the visuals this mod provides (short of the fog) then I might suggest making those tweaks (pretty much just drop all "lue" values for fogcolormiddle to 0 at every curve point for the prologue, Novigrad and Velen env files). Another option would be to reduce "fog density" in the same env files down to a level where you like them to be (the effect will reduce ALL fog everywhere the specific env controls).

EVD vs WLM
Any thoughts?

I hope this was in some way helpful to you.
