Hey guys, Mod is now updated and works with NMM too.
26 June Announcement
The mod is still working and compatible with the latest version of W3.
Keep in mind that this mod will only work with new save files and if you uninstall the mod after creating a save file, mod will still take effect. This is because geralt_levelups.xml file is only checked upon creating a new save file, after that this file is completely useless because the game does not need it any more until you start another save.
I was hoping that maybe since this is just modifying XP it will work with next gen update 4.02? As anyone tested? I would love to use the wolf curve so I can slow my role.
I don't understand. Are the armors all different or the same in normal game? Why is there such a spread in the armor? I thought of using each armor on their own play-through but this mod will make everything off balance.
It's an XP curve mod. Makes leveling faster or slower. The armor you choose doesn't matter so wear whatever you want. Great for your own play style. I updated this mod here
Started new game with the BEC Wolf and was level 2 in Kaer Morhen with negative -2100/1000 xp. Uncooked the mod to check the xml. Everything appears to be fine, but then I checked the base game xml.
I added this line to the xml file. Cooked it. Started new game and I'm level 1 like it should be. Used setlevel(2) to see if it's working correctly and the amount of xp required to reach level 2 is 1100, which is what the value is for BEC Wolf so I concluded that I fixed this small bug. Easy fix.
Base game xml files only go to level 50 and uses the infinite levels mechanic, which is that new line I added to the xml. You cannot change that value per level after 50 and it remains static.
So here is how it works after testing it a bit. Static experience points from level 50-100
And where exactly would I add this line to fix this? I have no experience with this and I would rather do it right the first time instead of guessing and possibly f-ing up something else.
-Edit-: Ignore this post. I see there's an updated version posted on here so I'll install that one and see if it works.
Using the Wolf version I started at level 2, with 0/1200 exp - and 1200 exp is the requirement to get from level 1 to level 2. So I'm guessing this simply means that I will have one extra level throughout the game. Which I suppose won't be too bad with Wolf (especially since I'm on Death March and thus only get 80 % quest experience), but we'll see.
Yes, I did start a fresh new game; not NG+/HoS only/B&W only.
I too started a new game with wolf installed and had the same problem. I started at lvl 2. when I leveled up I didn't get an ability point and it said I was level 3. I went one more level to 4 and again didn't get an ability point. At that point I decided it was busted and uninstalled and started over. Shame really, I would have like the slower leveling since I am a completionist.
Strange. My game works just fine apart from the lvl 2 start. Getting an ability point after every level up. Maybe you had some other mod that was causing the issue?
Yeah, I didn't have Ashotep's issue either. I have been getting a talent point on every level up, even started with 1 talent point since it started me at level 2 instead of level 1.
But looking at the excel spread sheet on the front page for this mod, according to how much XP I have received total, 26,010, I should be about 610 points into level 16, instead of 110 points into level 15.

Completionist/death March etc.
Doesn't seem to...

You're missing this first line in the xml
<!-- infinite levels -->
<level number="-1" requiredExp="2000"addedSkillPoints="1"/>
