    Hello Witchers and Sorceresses!
I hope your holidays has been pleasantly and you all are healthy. By the way, I also want to wish you a happy new year! It's been over 3 months since the release of version 12.0 (it was a really incredible moment for me, I love premieres  :D), and now it's time to show you some new surprises (yes, again :) ). I just want to mention that I am constantly surprised how amazing the Witcher community is, your support motivates me and is really the main reason to continue my adventure with the Wicher 3, just a big thank you! As you can see, I'm currently working on the next version of HDRP (called currently NextGen), but I'm also waiting for a response from CDPR regarding possible cooperation (or something) about The Witcher 3 for new consoles and PC upgrade, so we'll see what happens in the future. Also I have plans for Cyberpunk in the future (Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Project maybe? :) ), it's a really outstanding looking game, but I found some poor quality assets, so I can make them "high quality" . So for this occasion, I have a small survey: https://www.strawpoll.me/42355990
That's all for now, thank you everyone and see you soon! Greetings!

    Hello my friends!
First of all, I want to wish you all a happy and healthy Christmas. May you spend a nice time with your families. If you watched the previous video, you may have noticed the date of December 18th. It was supposed to be the release date of the Christmas mod for The Witcher 3. But unfortunately due to covid-19 in my family and the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, I was unable to finish the project, so you can only see a small part of the ideas realized. But maybe in a year I'll finally be able to finish and release it (the original plans were already a year ago). Anyway, it's just Christmas mod. And you are probably curious about HDRP, I've got some good news. In a week, on December 29, there will be a new video with some comparisons and informations about the future of my work. So stay tuned. ;)

    Halk,

I wouldn't even bother with Cyberpunk if I were you.  That game is a dud, and once all the hype is over, most will never play it again.  No point of putting a ton of work into a game that has little to no replay value.  For a lot of people, it hardly has enough value to even want to play, or finish it in the first place.

If you can continue to make Witcher 3 even better, then that's where your efforts should be.  After all, Witcher 3 is arguably one of the greatest games of all time that will continued to be played by people all over the world for years, and years to come.  Just my two cents after seeing your survey for what to do next.

Holy s***, Witcher 3 Next-Gen + HD Reworked Next-Gen, I'm literally at the bleeding edge of insanity, so enthusiastically electrified!

Halk Hogan PL, I thank you and truly hope that in that Next-Gen update of yours, picture perfect distant LODs based on your proper reworked textures are included as well. High time to increase that VRAM usage significantly. Much appreciated, my friend. :)

This game could definitely use all of them enhanced (if not mastercrafted) LODs. ;)

So they (CDPR) really are working on what they themselves call it "Witcher 3 Complete Edition". Interesting indeed!

Hope it will be compatible with mods. I use 1.31 instead of 1.32 since so many mods don't work with it...

What mods? I had just one incompatible mod in all the 2 years I mod my game now. And I'm not even sure it it was a version problem because it was a texture mod.
But if you mean all these 3, 4 or 5 years old and not updated mods, it is normal that outdated mods for outdated versions might don't work anymore on uptodate versions.
If everyone would update and just use 1.32, it wouldn't take long and all mods (who get updated or released) would be compatible with 1.32 and the "problem" everyone talks about but never happend to me as an 1.32 player would be obsolete.

Yes, but that won't happen since a lot of brilliant (and in my opinion essential) mods are not developed any further by the author due to many reasons.

I know. It's a perfect but not a realistic solution. But I still don't know what mods for example are working on 1.31 and not on 1.32.
I know why this could happen. This one added language support changes enough files to mke older mods incompatible but I can't remember seeing a mod that behaved like this.

Hello Hogan! Any chance of publicizing a version where all parts of the HD Reworked Project are under one mod folder, like you once did before?

is this mod incompatible with other textures mods ? (like roach e3 griffin demo mod, Kaer Morhen Vgx Mod, etc.) Cuz if i download this mod and activate it along these other texture mods, the game doesn't launch, any solution ?

Hello, I can't find anyone who has done this mod and since you are very proficient in modding I wanted to ask if you could do this one: Could you erase the loss of life that Geralt suffers when using a powerful strike with Olgierd's sword (iris)? Only the loss of life but not the rest (red highlighting for example). Also, is there a way to change the description of this weapon? More precisely the part concerning the points of life that Geralt must sacrifice when using the power of the weapon. Thank you in advance.

Wait. Using olgierds saber costs you some HP? Never noticed that and it doesn't get mentioned.

"Weapon charges with energy during combat. When it's color changes to red, a strong attack will release this energy in an extra powerful strike, at the cost of part of the attacker's Vitality."

I would like to remove the "at the cost of part of the attacker's Vitality" part and erase the life loss effect.

If you write it like that it is clear. But in my language the description can be a little missleading in that point. I never though that it means me with "the attacker" and not my enemies who are attaking me. I guess I can't wait to finde another weapon now. lol

It is true that it is confusing. He could be marked "Geralt" instead of "attacker". So that's exactly why I would like to remove this effect. However, even with this effect, Iris is a great weapon as when you hit an enemy when it is red, it falls to the ground and there is an instant victory for Geralt.

I really don't know about mod and was wondering if it's hard to do or not.

Or something like "The bearer of this saber" would be a better description. That way it would clear that everyone who fights with it would have to make this little sacrafice.

But after some testing I noticed that I gain a little vitality back with each hit. If I'm low on health I don't have to worry about spending my last HP with the loaded strike because I gained some by loading the saber. And if I'm full on HP I won't realy notice the loss of health for the powerfull attack in the first place. If this was the finisher move I can easily eat something after it regardless of how much HP I have left and if not I just have to fight them to regain the health I just lost.
Means this effect sound scarry but is realy just there for balancing the saber.

[Edit] ok, never mind. I reequiped the saber again and can't reproduce the gaining HP effect. But if it isn't an effect of the saber I have no idea what caused it the first time I'm not having any abillity that gives me HP by fighting enemies And the caretakers sholve is in my stash.
Hmm... Maybe the game makes fun of me. Idk.

@lucasbdj - I took a stab at editing the Iris sword to see if I can remove that effect.  I found the file that controls its stats, but I don't see anything in the definitions file that controls adding/deducting vitality.  It might be located in another file that is referenced.  I'll keep looking.

Hi and thank you both for your answers. I'm responding a little late, sorry. LiloLila, I think you had the master's enchantment (from the HoS dlc) that loads your weapon with the sign you use if you have at least one adrenaline point : in the case of Quen, it allows your weapon to heal you the next time you strike your opponent. Thanks to you too Paulr0013 for helping me with this mod because honestly I don't know much about modding : I just made a mod recently that modifies the stats of the viper school armor. As LiloLila said, we can compensate for the loss of life by eating during the fight, by using potions or even by using the enchantment that I mentioned just before, but I would still like to avoid this effect : I don't see why Geralt would lose his life striking with Iris when Olgierd didn't. In addition, I understand that this is an effect limiting the power of the weapon (like Aerondight for which you lose the bonus if Geralt takes damage), but here I find it harmful : it is downright a penalty. It's a legendary item that we get as a reward at the end of the dlc, so it's normal that it is strong.

@lucasbdj - The only ability I see attached to the Iris sword that I don't recognize is something called PhantomWeapon.  Unless there is another file somewhere else that controls the ability and causes Geralt to lose life, I just don't see what makes it work.  I will tinker with removing that ability tag and see if it makes a difference.  But since I never really used Iris in my playthroughs, I'm not entirely certain what I'm looking for.

Update: also looking at the olgierd_sabre.w2ent container, but nothing obvious in there either that looks like it controls the damage to Geralt when he uses the sword.  Maybe someone who knows the file system better than I do could help, but I've run out of ideas.

I would guess that Olgierd had to make the same sacrafice. It just didn't had an effect on him because he can't die or get killed. And as a Witcher you can easily counter it with the active queen shield.
But I personally think the saber would be less balanced without this effect. Think about it. Not only from a balancing point of view does it make sence to give a sword like this an effect like that but also from a logical standpoint. The charging effect is like an energy transfare from target to saber. But what if you just continue dealing damage. The saber gets more and more loaded with energy. Now you can think about two szenarios. 1: the saber gats overloaded and releases its power with one snap and this discharge does not only affect the blade but also the area around it and therefor damages its user. Or 2: If enough energy is stored you have to releas it somehow. But if you just continue dealing damage the saber just would get charged more and more. Instead of taking the power from the oponent to charge the blade the saber takes some energy from the user (or you trasfare a bit of your energy into the saber) to aktivate the discharging instead of the charging state.

I think the first theory fits more into the game in terms of how the saber is described but the second theory simulates having a bit more controle over the ability.
(Why is the text so long? In my head it is just one tiny thought. And this is just the short version.)

Edit: FinalIy, I figured out how to do it (but straight from the source though). In the file accessible via the path D: \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ The Witcher 3 \ content \ content0 \ scripts \ game \ player \ phantomWeaponManager.ws, you must assign the value 0 to the variables "minVitalityPercToCharge" and "vitalityPercLostOnDischarge".

FANTASTIC work on the food, Halk! I really hope CD uses your textures for anything next gen. It's not even worth their time to go over this, as we know they will half ass it. Get some compensation though at least something.

Wonderful. I have a request, can you update the backdrop mountain in Toissaint? As it is in the vanilla version, the mountain looks like it's from the Playstation 2, low poly and out of focus. The backdrop mountains at Kaer Morhen, for example, are breathtaking in comparison. Also the ivy on the wall of the balcony at Kaer Morhen when you first start a playthrough.
