    Well I'm almost done with my 1st playthrough, it's all been pretty easy after about the middle of Act 1 on hard. However, I was playing as a mage which I suspect is just unbalanced in this game (and wasn't really changed one way or another by this mod). For my Iorveth playthrough I'm going to try doing a sword + alchemy build I think.

    Btw the fight with the dragon in Act 3 was almost impossible, very frustrating given how I was only doing 15 - 16 chip damage with every hit on hard and normal, so I had to turn the difficulty down to easy for that. Maybe that had something to do with my mage build I guess tho? If you ever make a new update to this mod, it would be great to make the dragon fight a bit easier imo.

    I still generally like the idea of this mod a lot, thanks so much for making it.

    Blue Stripes combat jacket is supposed to have 11 armor rating and just 1 slot for enhancement? Or is something wrong with my installation? If its correct, man this armor too powerfull.

      Yeah I agree that seems like a bug or just overpowered...I've just been mostly stomping through the combat on my 1st playthrough on hard in Act 1. I'm going to try getting some weaker armor, maybe +4 or 5 to try to make things more balanced.

    Just installed this mod halofway through act 1. My Robust cutless has mysterously dissapeared from my sheath no where to be found in my items and now i cant add any enhacements to me aromor or weapon. Just get a message saying not compatable. Gonna unistall.

    It's kinda weird that after installing this mod, the mysterious merchant in Flotsam won't sell silver swords anymore (before I installed this mod, I could still silver swords from him). All diagrams for swords seem to be disappeared.

    The hotfix did not fix the freeze bug for me, unfortunately. However, I think I've figured out how to fix it myself.

    Go to CookedPC\abilities\geralt_basic.xml, search for "crt_freeze". In the first line found, find min="0.00" and max="0.00", and change both values to -0.15.

    My understanding of modding is very rudimentary, but it seems to work so far, with Geralt back to the normal 0% freeze. Haven't had a chance to use a freeze sword yet, though.

    How do I know the mod is working? I think it doesnt work at all. I have EE steam version with essential mod

      It's not working for me either. None of the items' stats were changed, and the game is no longer allowing me to make diagrams which require Diamond Dust because in my inventory I have "(CRA) Diamond Dust" while the diagram is looking for "Diamond Dust" and all of my items have similar prefixes in their titles. This is the only mod I have downloaded which alters items and I'm regretting downloading this mod! @kindo

    I use this mod and have been pretty happy with it so far. Ibe made it to Act 3 and was excited to craft the endgame swords. I've found that my Act 2 crafted steel sword with it's two rune slots is just about the same, if not better than Caerme, with it's single slot.

    Also the boots, gloves, & pants you get diagrams for under the gargoyle areas are equivalent or inferior to act 2 items.

    The only equipment that seems unambiguously better is armor.

    Is this as it's intended? I know the difficulty scaling was weird and adjustments had to be made to address that but it just seems odd that all these named, epic items are not that different from what I already have.

    For anyone having the freeze bug--it looks like the culprit is actually the Extreme Quality Flora mod, not this one (as Cyke64 mentions further down in the comments here). Since it looks like there are a lot of folks here with this problem, I thought I'd share the fix found in the EQF comments section. Following the instructions below, I was able to sort it out, Geralt is no longer OP.

    How do you install it correctly?
    Create a "UserContent" folder in your Documents folder (C:/Documents/Witcher 2/) and extract the mod into there. More exact instructions can be read in the readme file the mod author has written.
    ----> IMPORTANT: DO NOT ENABLE the mod for now! Make sure the mod has not been enabled by going to "Mods" in the launcher and making sure it's not enabled. Then launch the game and play until you're in Foltest's camp in the prologue. The game will autosave and once that's done, exit the game and enable the mod. From now on you can play without any problems.
    I tried installing it with Nexus Mod Manager, but it messed up my game royally, to the point where the game could not be launched. Don't do it, just install your mods manually - period.

    Why ist this necessary?
    If you do not do as I described, the mod will mess up your game and make it so Geralt does insane damage, at least 5-6 times more than he should. The already quite high damage output is thus launched into the stratosphere. And once your playthrough is corrupted, you cannot undo it. You HAVE TO start a new game the way I described above. Trust me, you don't want to realize you're doing way too much damage way into chapter 2 of the game...

    I hope this helps someone.

    I've got a weird problem - at first the mod worked fine, but then I lost my HUD - if I try to bring up any menu (including the game menu), the game just stops until I hit Escape again. I can quicksave, but I can't quit without using Task Manager. Aside from this, I'm only using EMC.

    It seems to be whenever the mods section of the start-up is used. Seems to be a conflict with the UserContent.
