I have to ask, do they appear armoured when you visit the besieged Vergen with Vernon as well? Or is their appearance changed in the battle of Vergen on Iorveth's path only? A very good idea, in the books dwarves obviously used armour when they went into battle, a shoulderpad probably saved Zoltan's life from a Nilfgaardian weapon when he fought at Brenna
Alright, thanks, that's good to know. Yeah, the developers kind of forgot about that, but it's such a small detail, that to be honest, I wasn't bothered by it since 2011, just seeing your mod made me, and many others I'm sure, realise that Zoltan goes into battle against Kaedweni soldiers dressed just in his casual everyday jacket, I'd call it a surprising fix that one didn't know it was needed. Good job :)
Haha for sure, it's a shame it's such a small part. It was really just a proof of concept I suppose that I could change outfits and dynamically apply them in the Witcher 2. But, same as you, after I saw how moonknight1993 added armor to Zoltan for the battle of Kaer Morhen into the witcher 3 it made me realize the lack of armor and want to try that in this game.
Indeed, dynamic outfits are a thing in The Witcher 3 Nexus, I particularly like the one that changes Ciri's and the sorceresses' outfits as the game goes on (for example Ciri automatically switches to her DLC outfit after the battle of KM), haha, I have to admit, I haven't seen the mod changing Zoltan's attire, I'll check it out, thanks.
I'm glad you were able to make something similar in The Witcher 2, this game feels somehow neglected by modders, compared to the third part or even the first one which got yet another quality fan-made adventure in 2021 (Masquerade), but it makes sense with the developers having released the RedKit for TW2 too late when everyone was waiting for the third by then, TW3's release obviously made most of the people switch and wait for the RedKit 3...And then CDPRed releases it nine years later, they didn't make it easy for people :P
So, that's good to see you're one of the people who didn't forget about the Assassins of Kings. Have you ever thought of creating a short adventure for The Witcher 2, maybe? That's just a suggestion, but creating some short standalone quest for 15-20 minutes (something similar to the first two books) would rejuvenate TW2 modding even more, and I'm sure a modder with abilities and dedication such as yourself, would be capable of it. I saw a mod on another modding site, it's called A short story from the Trail. I don't find it perfect, rather a bit unfinished, but the overall conception was interesting to me, it looked like something doable in the TW2 RedKit.
Yeah, dynamic mods add so much to my playthroughs and "immersion" I can't play without them. Dynamic Appearances Project is the one I was talking about and if you learn REDkit 3 you can tweak this already amazing mod with any personal touches. It is a shame that CDPR released thier modding tools so late for both games, but makes newer playthroughs that much better I suppose. I'm more of a character/item modder but it was fun messing around with a world when I was trying to teach myself REDkit 2 so maybe some day. I've got a few projects I want to finish first.
I've been using the appearance mods made by teiji25, that's why I've been aware of DAP, but never looked through its features. After checking it, I don't like a few of the outfit changes there, but I found most of them very reasonable, and moonknight1993 thoughtfully made it modular with lots of optional files, so it's really impressive, no wonder you got inspired by it.
I understand, I wish you good luck with these projects of yours, and keep in mind that if tinkering with the toolset brings you fun, that's gonna help a lot in trying something else. I'm sure the Redkit 2 has something more to offer yet, not so long ago one user released the first act of The Witcher 1 on the TW2 engine, that's a good example of it. Looking forward to seeing more of your projects.
Thanks, and it's a retexture I made from the mod Brutal Face Update from the W3, but I haven't heard back for permission so it's just for personal use, and I've disected and I guess backwards engineered the FOTWW mod and brought the W3 hair and stuff into the base game but of course they are the assets of FOTWW team so I can't publish them. I would encourange you to play the FOTWW mod because it's amazing and then open it up and explore it to see if you can pull a part of it out that you like. Feel free to DM me if you want help.
Yes, I plan on releasing them at some point soon. My hard drive that had that project on it died so I stopped but I recently found the raw files for them so now I have to convert and package all of them again so once I get a descent chunk done I'll start uploading them.
I hope you continue working on the NPC for witcher 2 cause i was only able to cover as much of the NPCs for this game and i was still missing from what your pictures have.

Are you going to release your gorgeous face retextures you've been sharing on your nexus profile pics here or is the project abandoned?

Thanks for the update, your mod has become indispensable!
