"THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!"

this mod was built to run ontop of the unofficial patch PLUS so youl want to install that before installing this mod.

vortex:

navigate to the files tab and click the mod manager download button for each clan you want to play.

once installed in vortex, only enable the clan your planning on playing. to change clans, quit the game, go to vortex, disable the currently enabled clan and enable the clan you want to play next.

manual install:

make copys of and back up your cfg, dlg, python and vdata folders located in the directory you use. they are located in

c:/program files(x86)/steam/steamapps/common/Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines/"the directory you use"

find your directory:

vanilla directory:

c:/program files(x86)/steam/steamapps/common/Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines/Vampire

unofficial patch directory:

c:/program files(x86)/steam/steamapps/common/Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines/Unofficial_Patch

install:

extract the compressed file using 7zip.

go into the extracted folder

choose what clan you want to play. open that clans folder and take a copy of the cfg, dlg, python and vdata folders and paste them into c:/program files(x86)/steam/steamapps/common/Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines/"the directory you use"

overwrite when prompted.

if you want to play a diferent clan, choose that clans folder and repeat the install instructions.

uninstall:

delete the cfg, dlg, python and vdata folders located in the directory you use. restore the cfg, dlg, python and vdata  folders you backed up.

compatibility:

this mod requires the unofficial patch PLUS. it is also compatible with my "kickin it old school"(better guns) mods. it is not compatible with my "survival mode" mod(im working on incorporating this into it)...

it is probably incompatible with mods that change the way clans work.

visual mods should be fine as this mod dosnt add any new textures or models.

this mod dosnt change the overall story, but i did add some lines of dialogue where required and added some quests related to diablerizing the various elder vampires.

starting a new game:

choose the clan you installed

go down to history and select the desired generation.

generations are defined by their blood pool cap. thin blood, the fifteenth generation, has a blood pool cap of eight. the higher your generation, the lower your blood pool and the more difficult the game will be.

loading an old game/debug:

make sure you installed the player clan for the character your wanting to load.

once youve loaded your old save, open console with the tilde key.

choose the generation you want by using one of the following commands. "vhistory 1" is the fifteenth generation. "vhistory 2" is the fourteenth generation and so on.

vhistory 1

vhistory 2

vhistory 3

vhistory 4

vhistory 5

vhistory 6

vhistory 7

vhistory 8

now you need to enter the generations reference so the game knows what generation you are when you diablerize some one. these are in the same order as the above list. so if you choose "vhistory 1", you then need to enter "G.curgen15 = 1". if you chose "vhistory 6", you then you would need to enter "G.curgen10 = 1" and so on.

G.curgen15 = 1

G.curgen14 = 1

G.curgen13 = 1

G.curgen12 = 1

G.curgen11 = 1

G.curgen10 = 1

G.curgen9 = 1

G.curgen8 = 1

thats it, now your pre mod saved game should work with this mod.

consequences of diablerie:

diablerie is a big "no no" in vamp society, so youl get hit by a varying amount of masquerade violation and humanity loss after each successful attempt. different vampires merit different levels of punishment. so diablerizing strauss will create a larger violation of the masquerade than diablerizing someone like... oh, say... bertram.

diablerie will, however, allow you to raise your current generation by one level and thus increase your blood pool cap. so for instance,  after successfully diablerizing a vampire, if your currently generation 13, then you will become generation 12 and your cap will rise from 10 to 11.

just make sure your unarmed combat skill is ready to tackle your elders... literaly. some elders are more powerful than others.

the unarmed combat check functions much like any other social skill dialogue check, such as seduction. pass the check and you will successfully diablerize the elder. fail and the jokes on you...

another benifit of diablerie is that you might even be able to steal their disciplines.

disciplines stolen via diablerie are stored inside of phylacteries; magical items you keep in your inventory.

diablerie list so far:

jeanette

therese

the vorman sistsers

bertram

strauss

vv

isaac

nines

beckett

state of the mod:

pretty much done and actually working... im planning on cleaning up some of the functions and improving the diablerie animation... some day...

bugs...:

if you can't access the hotkey menu, place a few of your "phylacteries" into storage until you have fewer than four discs, adjust your hotkeys and then you can re equip the stored phylacteries.
