I've noticed some update requests, and was going to post one myself if I hadn't found any. I see you have no intentions of adding further mod compatibility, which is fair enough. But do you still intend on keeping this up-to-date? I ask since I see a lot of activity on your page, but nothing related to this mod for the past couple years. If not I'd be happy to take the job off your hands, and have left some credits below if you wish to see any.
EDIT: It would be unfair not to mention that this mod is still mostly functional for me. However some other mods do not work with it. And when effectively copying the inventory held before death the order is ruined, which bothers me personally.
You can see some of my work for 7D2D here, although this is simple XML/XPATH. These, among other things, are on my GitHub. I have worked with Harmony/BepInEx before on this and this, but have since moved on from that community. I play Valheim on and off, and expect to always return to it at some point.
As we've both mentioned, I have no interest in making this mod compatible with any other mods. I will however try to keep it up to date with the latest valheim versions whenever it breaks.
Feel free to fork my Valheim Mods repository and pull request any compatibility changes you make!
I'm glad you plan to keep these up-to-date. As my only issue with this mod currently lies in compatibility with EpicLoot, I don't think it is in need for an update after all. You undoubtedly figured this out yourself though.
I recently decided to work on something of my own, but should I find the time I'll see if I can bring some mod compatibility into this. Since you do not plan on maintaining these yourself, which takes your preference; Forking your repository, as you mentioned? -or- "Stand-alone" mods acting as expansion packs for your own?
I don't think "Stand-alone" mods acting as expansion packs for your own is a viable approach, too much hassle for the user as well.
Forking the repo, making your changes and then pull requesting it into the actual mod is definitely the prefered approach. That way all compatibility will be included inside the original mod :)
Any chance this mod will be updated for the latest updates to Valheim (Mistlands and possibly Hildir in future)? Would love to use this on my server is World Modifiers still drop items on death even set on "Casual". Also does it support ServerSync? There literally is virtually no working dedicated server mod for death checks. It's very depressing :(
I have not! I came back to patch the mods that were broken with the Hildir update, but have no intensions of making this mod compatible with other mods anymore. Too many dependencies and changes which I don't enjoy, sorry!

Hi I wanted to know if it's normal that when you die the death icon is not marked on the Map otherwise the mod works just fine here I have more death points on the Map how to do in the Config file j I only have the setting puff thank you I'm waiting for a fix to resume the mod in my plugins bye
I am using the Equipment and Quick Slots mod and from what I read it seems that Safe Death is supposed to move items from the quick slots into inventory if inventory is space is free when I die. The mod works great for everything but that part as when I died I lost all the food I had stored in the quick slots and my inventory had barely anything in it. I did look around in case it dropped but can't find it anywhere. Is there something else I am supposed to be doing?
Hey there, sorry to hear that! I don't think the problem is on your side, more and more reports have been coming in about compatibility with equipment and quick slots not being great lately. I will have a look!
Hey I seem to have an issue with this mod and eqipment and quick slots. Whenever I die, it just blackscreens and refuses to spawn me. Is this a known issue?

I have a feature request - is there any chance you could add the ability in the config to hide the No Skill Drain status effect? I prefer the 0 xp loss on death but the status icon always being there can be a bit of an eyesore.
Thanks again for the mod, appreciate you! Happy Mistlands :D
