hm if i put the file right in the pak folder, game crashes instant. if i put it in a ~mod folder same
Edit. Ok found the error. If you got the spacers choice upgrade that mod here crash the game, but the other mod (for maingame only) strangly works ok my fault, that is the dumbest thing ever if you got the upgrade, its not an aktuall data upgrade, its just another game that you have to download again-.-
Thank you for posting this. I had the same issue. Steam lists The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice as a separate entry in the Library but I had installed the vanilla version.
I actually put off playing this game just to wait for a carry weight mod to be created that was compatible with the Spacer's Choice edition, I hate dealing with anything even remotely close to tight inventory size restriction that much. And on that note, I was happy to find this mod came along since I first found out that Spacer's Choice broke all previous mods in the first place, and am happier to report that I just installed this today in my fully updated Steam version and it works great.
Thanks, mod creator, for allowing me to mindlessly vacuum up everything that isn't nailed down, just how I like it. I like a lot of things about this genre of game, but worrying about inventory limits is NOT one of them.
The game hasn't updated since June 2023 according to SteamDB. Which means nothing has changed and there's no reason for it not to work. Did you follow the mod instructions and get the Pack Mule perk for your character? This mod modifies that perk, not the base carry weight of a character.
I am officially an idiot ... omg, I'm so sorry ('Pack Mule' perk) I'll revise my above comment. I had just came back after seeing that the Better ADA Portrait mod worked perfectly.
Sorry but I've already finished the game twice and have since uninstalled it. I don't plan on making any more mods for the game. Thankfully the vanilla experience was nice enough to not bother me that much.
If I were to try to do this myself, what would I need to get started. I got the asset viewer but it's still Chinese for me. Can you explain briefly how you make something like this? I ll gladly try myself.
Just note that Spacer's Choice uses Unreal Engine 4.27 so all you need is tools compatible with that version. If I recall correctly I used a combination of FModel (extracting the asset?), UAssetGUI (editing), and UnrealPak (unpack/repack files) to create this mod. Within the pak structure perks will be located under: "Pak\Indiana\Content\Blueprints\Spells\PerkEffects\*".
Ok, I am dumb, ffs I can't repack them to work, the changes aren't in the game. I tried using the default folder structure, I tried using individual files, I am dumb. I am using unrealpak from unreal engine 4.27 as specified.
Darn. SOmething is fishy with the unreal engine unrealpak, when I try to unpack what I create with quickbms, I always get an error. Your files work fine. I tried packing with your linked tool, again, error after error.
After I put the mod in the game I can no longer see the mouse cursor. I can't control anything in the game menu, there is no cursor. I tried putting all 5 different files several times. I remove the mod = I can see the cursor inside the game . With this mod I can not sell goods to buy or mark anything
Works on the current Spacer's Choice update, but I also noticed the mouse cursor issue. For those saying it doesn't work at all, this is not vortex/mo2 compatible, so if you added more than a single file, it won't work. Otherwise, it seems like alt-tabbing out and back in fixes the mouse cursor either being invisible or stuck on the screen.

kinda hate to ask but could you modify a mod, there is a guy here who has the +45% weapon durability mod but it doesnt work on spacer edition games..
Any chance you could fix that? maybe make it a 250% version? cheers!
