  • Shotgun changes in V1.8

Here is details of all changes to shotguns in update 1.8

All Birdshots & Buckshots are no set to 200m max range to be equal to 10GA birdshot (you can see the old max range and new ones above)
All Birdshots & Buckshots have been doubled in their pellet counts, Max amount of pellets that can be set for them is 255 and even that sometimes breaks the ammo so I can't set a realistic pellet count (like of ~400 for a 12Ga #7.5 birdshot)
All Birdshots, Buckshots and slugs have 40% more penetration compared to default game
In optionals downloads I made a Tighter spread file for all Birdshots & Buckshots and the numbers are as below :
10Ga Plastic:  Min Spread -15%, Max Spread -32%

  • Binocular Overlays

Download the folder, extract it, go to the version that you like most and just copy the hud_i470 file  into the ui folder in your dropzone

( 2 versions that you can find in the Pill folder )

  • Chevron Reticle

A brief explanation regarding the new chevron reticle design

    Shotgun Usage

I made the chevron reticle to be a mix of birdshot + slug/bullet hybrid

The large red circle around the reticle is designed to show a general visualization of your birdshot pellet spread at 3x scope zoom level
The 3x zoom level is because the Hermes scope is 3-7x, and since you would want to track the birds in the sky, a lower zoom level helps with that.
( If you are using the tighter spread Mod in optional files, the spread of birdshots are accurate at 4x zoom with Hermes Scope since it has been Reduced )

  • Everything You Will Find In My MOD

Small explanation about the files you will see in my mod

If there are any files that you don't like in my mod, you can simply remove them and the game will load the game without those changes with vanilla settings ( I will explain this more down below )

This article will get updated every time I add or remove things from my mods

  • How To Use Mods In COTW

    Step 1:

First find a mod that you want to use from nexus and download the mod.
When downloading anything from nexus make sure to check the last time the mod was updated or check the posts to see if the mod has any issues with the newer updates of the game or if it's still working.

ANY game update can and will most likely break lots of mods so if they don't get updated, some of the older mods will not works with newer game updates

    Step 2 :

    Find your game's install location.
For most people it will be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\theHunterCotW" However if you are having issues finding the game's install location just do this :

( Go to steam, right click on hunt...

  • Long Range Shooting For Beginners

I’m by no means an expert on long-range shooting in Cotw, but I’ve recently received a few DMs asking me either to create a scope overlay that shows bullet drop and ranges or to explain how to shoot at longer distances. So, I decided to write this article to help answer those questions.
English is not my native language, but I’ll do my best to explain things clearly using images and examples.

As soon as a bullet leaves the barrel, it’s affected by gravity, air resistance, and (sometimes) wind. If you don’t account for these factors, your bullet will most likely hit somewhere other than where you aimed.
