Step 1:

First find a mod that you want to use from nexus and download the mod.
When downloading anything from nexus make sure to check the last time the mod was updated or check the posts to see if the mod has any issues with the newer updates of the game or if it's still working.

ANY game update can and will most likely break lots of mods so if they don't get updated, some of the older mods will not works with newer game updates

Step 2 :

Find your game's install location.
For most people it will be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\theHunterCotW" However if you are having issues finding the game's install location just do this :

( Go to steam, right click on hunter call of the wild, manage, browse local files )

Your location should look like :

Step 3 :

Make a dropzone folder right here in this location ( right click in this folder, new, folder, name it dropzone )

For ANY mod to work in hunter call of the wild they need to be placed in this dropzone folder correctly

Step 4 :

Extract the mods you have downloaded in the first step.
You might see 3 things :

  • A dropzone folder
  • A folder that might be called "global","editor","settings","ui" or something similar to these
  • You might see multiple options for 1 mod like 2x 5x 10x cash being in a bundle and for you to choose what to use.

If you mod just extracted to a dropzone folder, open the dropzone and copy all of the things inside of it, go to your game's install location, paste it inside the dropzone we created in second step like this :

If the mod extracted to any folder like the ones i have mentioned ( editor global settings ui and such ), you do not need to open them so simply take that folder and paste in in the dropzone at game's install location like before

If the mod you have downloaded had different versions like my zeroing mod, after extracting you will see many folders with different weapons name's. you open whatever you like and do the exact same as we have been doing before.

Step 5 :

Very last step is to use the launch options for Steam/Epic
Open steam, right click on hunter call of the wild, properties and under launch option use these :

For steam :
--vfs-fs dropzone --vfs-archive patch_win64 --vfs-archive archives_win64 --vfs-archive dlc_win64 --vfs-fs.

For Epic games:
--vfs-fs dropzone --vfs-archive archives_win64 --vfs-fs.
