About this mod

NG+ (new game plus) is a feature implemented in many games to increase replayability. While this game merely doesn't need it, as scanning stuff, gathering resources and building habitats is a main aspect of the game. Yet I still wanted to have a savegame available, where nothing of the story is touched. So I made this and thought I share it too.

Warning:

Please be sure that this is a savegame of slot 0 (the first slot that is :P), so make a backup of your own savegame in that slot or make a backup of your whole savegame folder.

Also I do NOT RECOMMEND this for your first playthrough. I am not sure how achievements work in Below Zero, but chances are high that you get some unlocked immediately, when you load up the game.
Depending on how they are checked for unlocking.

Yet you are also missing some of Robin's monologues and PDA messages, as of me running through all biomes and scanning all the things.

Hint:
If you somewhat want the resources I've gathered back you can reset them.
Go into the "slot0000" folder and delete the "CellsCache" folder in there.

Updates:

Version 2.0:
Just a new game with not as much long walkways, no disks collected, no posters collected, so a bit more to do.

Version 1.3:

Version 1.2:

Features:

  • I've edited the JSON file with the gametime, so you start with 0 min of playtime, while mine still has my original counter of 2 days and a bit more than 7 hours. XD
But for the purpose of being NG+ it should start from 0.
  • I've not entered any quest or even triggered the automated message on Delta Island, so that's up to do.
  • There is a stupid base that connects through various biomes. Gear, vehicles and more are available.
  • All blueprints got collected normally (except the quest ones, where you need to continue a quest line and collect it by yourself of course).
  • You start at the crash site and I haven't even collected any of the dropped items there. oO
  • Dropped various beacons on interesting points.
  • Haven't collected any PDA (that's still up to do).
  • Have collected a few jukebox disks, until I realized you can actually put your own music into the jukebox easily. *faceplam*
  • CONSOLE WAS NOT USED! You should be able to get achievements with this savegame. I just hope that editing the JSON file didn't do any harm on that regard. oO
  • QUARTZ nodes, are almost all drilled up. But you can still collect a lot of quartz, by using the scanner room.
  • The Alterra Grand Hotel (6 stacked large rooms) features an alien containment with all 6 Trivalve's hatched.
  • Jukebox speakers should transfer your favourite songs throughout the whole base. But if you use headphones, it will sound a little funny as I only used one-sided speakers as you can see in my video. I might enhance that in the future to increase sound quality, but as I barely use headphones, that might take a while.

Bugs and known issues:

  • The stairs of hatches (even the one you will find first) may bug out. Yet you can jump onto the first bugged stairs and get a habitat builder from the Drop Pod Base's "Gear" lockers.
You can fix this issue with the habitat builder by de- and quickly reconstructing the bugged elements. This is a game bug unfortunately.
  • The control room of the Drop Pod base has some weird invisible walls inside.
Which seems to be an issue from the digital map. If you go to the map control unit, activate it and and press SPACE you'll elevate the digital map, which removes the invisible walls. Unfortunately this resets upon reload, so I built ways around the control room. :/ Seems to be a game bug exclusive to big bases. :(
  • When loading the save, you hear weird seatruck sounds. That happened as of saving upon an animation bug. I didn't want to ALT + F4 and redo my resource run, so I hoped to fix that animation bug by saving and loading which helped. Yet that tiny annoyance occured.
  • When coming close with the seatruck to a moonpool the game heavily stutters. I am not sure if this is a general game issue, but it happens.

Installation:

Move the whole folder "slot0000" to this directoy:
Steam\steamapps\common\SubnauticaZero\SNAppData\SavedGames

Game was played on release branch of Below Zero (Steam version) and without any mods active.
Attention! This is a savegame in hardcore mode, as I merely prefer to play without O2 warnings.
