The Subnautica Living Large update - also referred to as the Subnautica 2.0 update or Modpocalypse update - has been released.
This update adds many cool new things to the game, but it also breaks the vast majority of mods, including QMM itself.
At the moment, my main focus is updating my most popular mod - SnapBuilder - for the update. I expect to have it released within the next 48 hours if not sooner.
After that, I will be going through each of my mods and assessing how viable they are in Subnautica 2.0, and how much time it will take to release an updated version. I will post updates here when I can give more information.
In the meantime, if you play on Steam, you can continue playing Subnautica with all of your QMM mods by switching to the legacy branch - i.e. downgrading your Subnautica to the last version which QMM still worked for. You can find the option to switch to the legacy branch under the Betas section of the game Properties in your Steam Library.
Until the new release is ready, I will be locking the comments here.

Now ...that's exactly what was needed for really horror experience, just used my dirty test playlist mix from submarine and space games, and I'm scared to jump into the water at nights... PERFECT.
Problem is lack of playlist selection based on biome and situation, without it, it's 50% useful, but when it works it's great.
At the moment there is no way to get specific music to play per biome, or playlist functionality. The way it is right now is it will randomly select from the tracks you have available (in your "QMods\CustomTunes\Music" folder or the OST folder if you have it).
General and per-biome playlists are planned features, just haven't gotten around to it yet :)
Apologies that this mod has essentially been abandonware for the past year. It's been very low on my priority list and honestly, if I were to return to it I would kind of want to start from scratch as the way it currently works is very hacky.
No promises about returning to it, but I'd like to when life is less hectic.
Probably will not improve just like that. I abandoned many of my projects too, so I understand. Just hope one day or evening you find yourself in a mood to make those playlists/situation driven selections, even if they would not be perfect and quite dirty. Thank you for what you did so far! All the best.
Hi! I really love the idea of this mod, only I kinda wish there were better ?instructions? Does the mod come preinstalled with custom tracks, or do we have to add our own music/audio files to the mod? And if so, how would we go about that? Really appreciate this concept and a lot of your other mods! Thanks for the help :)
PS: Would absolutely adore a jukebox mod! Can't wait to see it! :D
It does not come preloaded with tracks (except the OST if you have that dlc installed). To add tracks, you put them in the Music folder in the game's installation folder. This is covered in the description of the mod.
Did this work with youtube video too cause ive got a mod like it that can use youtube track and work very well so i espect it for the futur...perhaps :3 Nevermind good work !
Hi, I am probably missing something, but when I installed the mod I went to where the instructions said, but I see no music folder despite the instructions. I see 3 dlls a json and a normal file, named folder managed by vortex, MimeTypesMap, Mod, NAudio, and Straitjacket.Subnautica.Mods.CustomTunes. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that did not work.
this is so close to what i was looking for i wanted to play music off the pda i even tried to do it myself i thought i could just replace some of the voice logs but no you think you could make it play off the pda if you can/want if you dont then no biggie. also im still confused at why the knife is being used backwards the heatblade is fine but the survival knife.....soryy juat had to say that maybe someone will fix it if i keep telling people.
Can you elaborate what you mean by "play off the PDA"? Do you mean there should be a menu in the PDA itself for handling the music? That's not really what this mod was designed for.
As for your second, completely irrelevant comment about the heatblade/survival knife... that's likely an animation thing. Join the Subnautica Modding Discord server and ask in #modding-1 or #mod-ideas-discussion about whether someone would want to make a mod to "fix" it. You'll have better success there than just soliciting random modders on the Nexus...
I think what he means is like when you pull up the PDA music would play from it, and when you close it the music would stop? maybe like elevator/loading screen music? idk
