I had used this and all was good. Trying to make a new map, but it keeps giving me this error: "Invalid World Directory" and lists the folder for where I have the game installed.
Only thing that's changed since the last time I made a new world is Stranded Wide was updated.
This is really great. I'm just wondering is it possible to use the shark spawner updater thing on maps from the steam workshop? I find that many maps have sharks that spawn once and then never again, I wan't to make all sharks into spawners on all the maps.
Technically it's possible. With the current version, without changing anything, you could just copy the maps from the workshop directory into your local "Maps" directory, and the tool should find them, then you should be able to patch them
If you need the tool to do it on its own, I'll have to update it, and I cannot give you a release date for now :)
I've installed your mod (mainly for the world randomizer)... FYI I use Epic Games to run SD...
I've followed the directions up to GENERATE WORLD within your app. However I get an error.
The app requires you to enter two directories: 1.) "Stranded Deep Data folder" (I select the folder and it enters fine). 2.) "Stranded Deep installation folder" (I select the folder but it does not enter into the app... the field stays blanked out)... The installation folder is in c\prog files\epic games\stranded deep (not in the x86 folder)...
Hi. I had the same errors but got past it. I had the error and the error was caused by a faulty custom map mod. I kept removing a few maps at a time then it worked. I re-added the faulty map and it bugged again. Another time, I got the error and fixed it by reinstalling the game and then redownloaded the mod and it worked. Another time, I just kept selecting different options, like including the mission maps and NOT selecting open sea starting point and it worked. Just keep trying different options. It is worth it.
we figured out with danvega18 what his problem was : the installation path contained "strandeddeep" without a space, which the tool does not recognize in current version, it looks for "stranded deep" with a space this will be fixed in the next version
Brilliant mod. The world randomizer is a great way to play the game in a new way. I added 25 custom maps, 11 of them were the sunken sandbars/reefs with only a few sunken ships and no visible islands then used the randomizer and others tiny maps or just a small rock island. Thanks for the mod.
This tool is a must! The 'simple' map function is wonderful (I missed having a map in game! Maybe player-updated via chalkboard, written on tree bark or leather?) I like to check that I haven't missed any wrecks (some don't show bubbles for me, maybe because they're on custom maps) before I leave an island, so thanks for the hide/reveal feature (plus I love that I only get spoiled if I actually want to know)
And the randomizer!!! There are no words! Thank you for creating it!
(ps: in case you ever run out of inspiration, a way to add a custom name to an island and/or write a couple of notes (such as 'left 1 barrel here') could be cool too)
Only seen the video and i'm surprised there isn't more posts here. Looks really good so far - shows a lot of effort and the humour is good too. Nice work! I'm gonna give it a try now. Thank you

As a note, if you're using the Stranded Wide mod, make sure to point your directory to the Stranded Wide folder.

Weird, have you tried on a clean world directory ?
Is the "restore" button available ? have you made backups ?
It should be
If you encounter any issue, do not hesitate to share it

Help please?
Thanks
this will be fixed in the next version
I also feel it makes the game more enjoyable \o/

Very glad to read this, and happy you enjoy the tool
Just in case you haven't seen, I also made an ingame map (available here on Nexus), way simpler, but real time
You can "rename" an island by labelling a shelter on it, and any other label should be shown in the tooltips
The randomizer was hard to write, but I think it was worth it :)
I always get the error message (including the typo):
Edit:
I just found the culprit: it needs to be 6 maps
You are right though, the message is not very user friendly, i'll try and update it in the next releases
