    The mix of regular and plague freaks is something that I've wanted for a long time, finally got it with this awesome mod.

    So I'm in Cascade Hills on Nightmare with this mod as well as the 125 plague hearts from Increase or Decrease Hearts mod, and was immediately attacked by a plague feral to start, thankfully we killed it but because I typically don't like to head to the new home right away, was me and my other two together until we were all loaded up with too much to carry, by the time we got to the house all of us were heavy wounded and with a bit of sickness, wow, for some reason this was much harder than usual and half a dozen feral attacks within that time, plus my two npcs were being stupid instead of staying with me, choosing to pick fights and got gassed by bloaters a few times that were nearby to zombies they decided to fight.

    It took me a very long time to recover everyone and get my home base going with nearby outposts, but soon after lost the two stupid ones of my survivors (they were under my control, just bad moves and choices on my part), one to a regular Juggernaut, she was ripped in half, and the other to a regular feral due to her panicking from bloater gas in her face, and as such the feral ripped her face off. Thankfully shortly after I got another person, and then paid another to join us, so I was back up to three, and a time later four people. Eventually all plague hearts on that starting side of the river were destroyed and I moved base to the bridge.

    It took a long time to clear the middle of the map and once I did I got another person to the team, moved into the corner office once I established outposts for protection, though shortly after this new member was killed just one hit shy of destroying a plague heart, but at least I was able to make that move (it didn't matter, I only let him join so that I could move there). I did have someone else request to join and I let him, but didn't realize he was plagued, he died when running off, halfway to his new home (still don't understand why they don't stay with me and let me drive them to their new home, cardio is good and all but one shouldn't pass on a ride when the distance is far and you're plagued and about to die). But got me another member so up to five in my group.

    I just cleared out the northwest area of the map, another joined me just some minutes ago while I was gathering up what was left in those plague hearts, though when at the warehouse at the very western edge of town I nearly lost one of my really good ones because the game does what the game does when it really wants to win, it cheats. While I was searching, after taking everything left from the plague heart that I destroyed some time ago, it crumbles, and I am searching one of the shelves, there are a few zombies inside but on the opposite end, and then suddenly I hear someone shout "Oh, god please help me!" and I see the place was suddenly turned into a hostile enclave, "Time for you to go straight to hell!" or something of that such and they start shooting at me, one shot me taking nearly all of my health off before I could even react and I dodged a few shots, but then get hit and down I go and zombies start clawing at me as one of those hostiles rushes over to clobber me but I get up just in time and dash out the door and use my med kit and run stagger in a zig-zag away from there as fast as I could all the while zombies behind me and bullets whizzing by, scariest moment so far this game, and also the cheapest.

    I've had zombies suddenly appear while I'm in a building quite a many times (always hate that), sometimes while I'm searching it suddenly becomes infested, and sometimes just after some other group was there, turned off the lights and left, but this was the first time a hostile enclave teleported in like that.

    Anyway, loving the mix of freaks, never know what to expect, so that uncertainty makes the game even more tense. But also depending on which ones are around when I'm about to kill a plague heart can better figure which will die with it and which ones will be left, like plague feral and/or juggernaut(s), a few more hits and they won't be a problem. And I like that I can finally have plague ferals on a difficult other than Lethal, while also having all of those non plague freak versions from the easier modes. Goods stuff.

    Update : Day 30, all 125 plague hearts destroyed, and by day 33 my sheriff took out the bad guys. And the Freak Mix is perfect, definitely a keeper, so will be playing it again with this mod, alongside all those extra plague hearts and whatever else I can find to make things more interesting and challenging without it being too insane.

    Is there a way to make only regular freaks spawn? Wanne play a weird combination difficulty on lethal, but with just normal freaks instead of blood freaks.

      It will break bro whenever there are freaks affected by curveball specifically. Proven that many times in my game. Can you fix that?

      i cannot fix anything related to curveballs as the mod does not affect curveballs in no way shape or form..it is the curveballs themselves causing issues as i have seen it do the same even without mods

      undead labs has asked absolutely no mods be used on beta it messes with thier data collection and causes us to have screwed up updates like the last few

    Will this work with Increase freak and zombie spawns? I would love to have all the different types and colors of freaks.

    Can something be done about infestations always having normal freaks? It would be cool to have both normal and blood plague-mixed infestations, but if that's not possible, I think it would be better if there were all blood plague variants to make it a little more difficult. Ferals especially are not really a threat if you can just pop them with a headshot with any gun.

      i will not the point of the mod is not to make it challenging it is to simply mix the freaks

    Hello darkwolves,
    I had a quick question about the compatibility of this mod with update 33 for state of decay 2. When I went to launch my game as soon as I try to start a new game the whole application crashes. The only mods I have are a few health bars for followers, vehicles and plague hearts along with this mod. When I took this mod out of the mod manager my game didn't crash which is why I thought I'd ask you if this was compatible or not.
    Hopefully you can find the time to reply as this mod was my lowkey favorite out of all the sod2 mods I've seen.🙂

      Ok thank you for the quick response and confirmation. I hate to ask but do have like a possible update release time planned for yourself? I find Lethal, well Lethal for me and dread is too boring cause there is no variation so your mod makes it perfect. However, I can only imagine the work you have for yourself so I don't expect anything quick.

      there is no ETA as of right now. i am fixing the walking dead ones right now which are the hardest they really messed with alot of stuff

    seems to be working great in base game but it break daybreak ai/spawn they just stand still when doing the dlc. I did all of daybreak in 1 try with my friend.

      I see, I apologize for blaming you. its the only spawn mod I have and my daybreak zed bugged so I thought it might be this mod. sorry.

      it would be something that alters daybreak and none of my spawn mods touch daybreak
