Ah yes same issue with the stuff posted on main Starsector Forums at https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=18126.105! Error is officially found, you can either install UnknownSkies as well to also fix the issue https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=12041.0
But I will upload the patched error-free hotfix soon!
Sadly, I have to say that I don't recommend this mod.
It is clear that a lot of work have been done on this, but it is still raw and unbalanced in many ways.
According to their lore, they are a splinter corporation, like Tri-Tachion. Except they have multiple planets with heavy industry at the start, more then any other faction (Tri-Tachion has one) and come close to Hegemony and Persean League in terms of sheer size. Way too much.
Further, in terms of balance of their ships and weapons they are not outright terrible, but not as polished as some other faction mods out there.

Its the same nullpoint error listed in the forum changelog for fixed bugs (but I don't have an account for that forum so this was easier.

Please update Hyperion Systems to the latest, this mod does not happen to me. I see the class HS_AutoGeneratePlanets which is no longer in the mod since 0.8.2-a2.
The ships in this mod are totally and completely insanely broken, like a Eridani Frigate(!), with 125 Ordnance points, built-it thermal cannon, Large weapon mount, and 300% range buff on top of that. And it also costs 6000 credits on market XD
And. these insane ships also spawn in some faction fleets.
I have to disable this mod, and start new game because of it
The lore of the mod is they are an old experimental ship building and designing conglomerate that ended up divided after the collapse of the Human Domain-era. That's why you see these ships on other factions, especially the Hegemony, the Hyperion Systems Corporation in the Persean Sector ended up with the Hegemony.
Read the lore first, and you will understand the appearances of this mod's ship designs on other factions. The current unfinished nightly build, last time I touched this has only the Independent and the Hegemony has these ships in their fleets, and the Independent only has the cargo/fuel/crew variants of these.
The unbalanced issue will be fixed, I know its overpowered. I will reduce the amount of ordinance points, ship systems, and also remove all built-in weapons. The 300% range buff will get removed as the base ship systems are also reduced. But the cost per ship will still maintain its original prices. Remember, the lore also suggests that Hyperion Systems under the Hegemony's rule is kinda protecting the ship's designs.
