I want to say how much I appreciate everyone's kind words. There are so many more possibilities for expanding this mod and I'm excited to continue developing it.

If you haven't checked out Cora Wants All The Books yet, make sure you do that. VenpiTheGamer has built an excellent addition to this mod that finally lets you give Cora those books she asks for.

Would it be possible to add a version that still retains the original commentary featured in brackets at the end of each book?

    I'm asking for two reasons:
#1 is that these comments actually did help establish world-building by, most of the time, telling the circumstances around the publication of said book, both in-universe and the ones in real life
#2 would be the fact that English is not my first language, and I'm already dumb enough in my native language that sometimes it's hard to grasp some of the concepts featured in less-than-literal texts, like poems. Said commentary would shed a light in just what exactly I just read

Now this is the type of mod I want to see in this game. Well done.

Truly an underrated mod. one of my biggest disappointments of starfield was actually the content from books especially when comparing to the elder scrolls. while this isn't as in depth, it definitely satisfies.

Just as a heads up. Any mod that touches the Lodge, does not appear to work on Version 1.8.86. I posted lengthy posts on the mod pages for the Lodge Decorator and the Christmas Gift page. I spend pretty much eht entire evening and night testing each mod on it's own, all mods in combination and none works. The books that Books revamped is supposed to place in the Lodge also don't show up and only the standard books are visible. In other words, all edits to the interior cell are not visible in game. In some cases mods that do edit the cell can even cause a complete vanishing of the lodge. From all my tests i can say that the mods are fine, the changes just don't show up and it only happens with the Lodge. Any other cells are unaffected. It might be a Lodge specific problem or a New Atlantis issue. If you point me to a specific book that should be placed in NA i will gladly test it as well. After good 8 hours of taking every mod apart and testing everything back and forth i just don't have the energy anymore to dig deeper into entire NA and if every book pops up where it should. From what i saw there is no difference on the cell record between 1.7.36 and 1.8.86 in the ESM, but i just did a quick glance over. But there might be something somewhere else hidden. My 1.8.86 installation is completely fresh with a completely fresh save. All affected mods are loaded into the game, they just don't apply the changes to the Lodge and only the Lodge. I also tried each mod as the only mod enabled on a completely vanilla clean setup with only SFSE and the plugin.txt enabler and still nothing. No changes to the Lodge visible.

I hate to be the "it works for me" guy, but the Lodge is my go to place for testing changes because the bar has so many books. There's no specific book that should be spawning there, I'm using the leveled lists in most places so it'll always be random. It definitely seems like you've tested everything I'd suggest testing, but still there has to be something else going on. Or maybe I'm the odd one and it doesn't work for anyone except me.

Is that on a fresh save since the update? Because the books don't show up for me. Fresh install of 1.8.86 with a fresh save. And did you update the game to 1.8.86 or re-installed it from ground? Was the save you use for testing created on version 1.7.36 and carried over to 1.8.86?

And yes, i know about the levelled list. I took your mod for testing and first looked at it in detail to see what should be changed when going into the lodge. Your mod was ideal for testing as i could exactly see what and where something should be different.

I can try to do one more test and put your mod at the end of my load order. if it works for you, all records should be in order so if your mod overwrites anything from the other mods they might come to life as well. And yes, i will make sure that Cora can read is disabled to not get into conflicts with dependencies..

And nope, books are not showing up at all. Which wonders me, the levelled list does not edit the Lodge directly, it just changes the source from which the books are selected. This is a real weird problem. I tested with only Books Revamped enabled, with other mods enabled as well, changed the load order around. Nothing works. Even created a new save with no mods enabled at all, played until just before entering the Lodge, then enabled the mods accordingly. Absolutely nothing. No books from your mod in the Lodge.

And probably you will laugh now. Just reloaded with no changes to the load order and now the books show. This is the initial save from where i noticed the bug first and that i used for most tests i did before. But the vanilla save i did more or less moments ago with only Books Revamped enabled as the only mod, still no books. This is getting more and more weird by the minute. And yes, in previous tests i also looked at this shelf you have in your screenshot. But regardless the other mods still don't show up in the lodge no matter what i do. Was almost hoping when i saw your books popping up that the other mods also suddenly work.... I reloaded a few times now and the books stay. Well i guess it is a partial success, even tho one can't really replicate or explain. I mean i am since over 30 years in IT. Did Software development in Assembler, C/C++, Pascal, Cobol, Clipper (nobody knows that anymore), worked on seriously massive databases, did Testmanagement for a huge german company with over 210,000 employees worldwide, did Systemsdesign and Architecture, Tier-1 Networks for a british ISP and finally IT-Security in a C-Level position, but this, i don't get unless there is some  memory leak throwing spanners into the works.

Well i am done with this, did everything i can do or want to do. If anybody else has the same issue, you have a possible explanation or at least pointers and that there is nothing we can do apart from waiting. Maybe the issue will fix itself, maybe not, maybe Bethesda will fix it, maybe.....well you get the picture.

I manage to make 4 mods that edit the Lodge to work together. But I can only make this mod work with all of them and not deleting all modded objects, by downgrading to version 1.1.1 and heavily sorted my load order. Any version newer than that will, again, delete all moded objects that placed in the Lodge. I think it has to do with the unknown 17 record that this mod added to the Lodge.

Short answer, I don't know. I'd like to do something similar to Unread Books Glow for Skyrim, but even if it's something simpler like a
      • if you've read it, I need to find the time to figure out how to do that. There's still a ton of room for this mod to grow though.

I am blaming part of my 1007.5 hours on Starfield on this mod.
Now we need proper bookshelves in game or at least some kind of Jedi archive for our data slates.

WOW. I had an idea to implement every damn story from UESP to Oblivion and also the stories at TES Library. Books are so special. You can see here what I did with books for Oblivion a while back. I do hope to be able to do similar later in Starfield, so we can get proper book shelfs and book covers as no one have done any book covers that really appeal to me and some are easy to make, some are extremely hard and it all depends if I can recreate the right scenery from the books but I am a Graphic Student right now and that is what we learn to do, better, recreate stuff, visualize stuff in 3D, making  sceneries in Blender and that is where I make almost all my stuff, with Blender and also make cool paintings and build a nice comfy home or base, that has fun stuff. I am inspired a lot by the Legacy of the Dragonborn, my fav mod ever for Skyrim.

    https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/51953

My point is that it seems we are a couple that are interested in books, so maybe we should cooperate later on maybe?  I just joined the Starfield Discord so I will hang around there and at the forum as well, as I will need help later, specially with that bloody Papyrus  :D  I do think I can export all those meshes for Starfield later, instead of reinvent the world, but only if there is no other suitable buildings for a proper library that is as there is none in Oblivion that I think was or is proper, with enough space to get a good view inside our library / Libraries. It is now 2 rooms filled with books  :D  The house and library was built to work perfect together with loads of companions in mind and make the library to live, letting those rooms become alive.

Thanks for your message, you do mention a few ideas I've had. Book covers for sure, but since I'm not artistic and can barely figure out how to open an existing book cover in GIMP, never mind change it, that's on the back burner for now. Book shelves for sure are needed, whether for your ship, Cora's room, or an Outpost. And if those shelves work, I think a quest to build and stock a library could be amazing. For the moment, I'm focusing on adding more and varied books, but am always open to help.

Well nexstephen than I might be the right modder for the job I guess.  :D  I just made a bloody textwall of my ideas inside the forum, dumped my brain, tried to open a dialogue about this subject but it is also very detailed technically mixed with thoughts about what will work in game and also fit in game lore wise, as I do want stuff to fit inside the game but I am open minded to anything honestly and i want to get startedtonight alreay, take the first step. Well read more it here, but a warning, it is a tired modder, writing a textwall with ideas.  :D
      https://forums.nexusmods.com/topic/13458041-books-an-bokshelves-at-outposts/

I mainly want to spin off the quests I made for Oblivion, implementing them to fit inside Starfield as i do like my base story which may fir in any environment really. I also made a similar message in the Cora wants all the books threads.  :D  Oki, cora can get all the books, or rather copies of them...    ;)   We will make a printing press.  ;)
