CrEaToXx Hardcore Tweaks
What this?

A set of hardcore balanced tweaks to make your life in Starfield a tad more challenging. It's basically the same set of tweaks I'm using since the days of Skyrim, to iron out the aspect of survival in what might become the most easy game ever released. As of version 0.3 this is heavily balanced around the following mods: Desolation, Simple Needs, Deadly Hazards, Leveled Enemies(hardest version), PEAK(all combat styles removed with xEdit, because cheating bots is no no, and also majorly breaks AI), Weapons of Fate, Ballistics Augmented.

How to install?

Done with currently experimental xEdit, so mind the risk.

Mo2 drag&drop, Vortex the same. But if you want to do it full yolo hardcore, do it manually this way:

1. download Plugin enabler and install per instructions
2. add this to your load order .txt file(without quotes) "*CHT_CreatoxxHardcoreTweaks.esm"
3. move the file inside the .zip to your Starfield/Data folder
4. blatantly ignore anything said about MyGames
5 (optional) if you are using Starvival, make sure the tweak is placed after Starvival in load order, to allow overriding no food heal, and patch conflicts with xEdit if you must. The same is probably true for any other conflict found with the method.
6. done

But why?

If you have to ask then you are not hardcore enough to be considered worth receiving an answer. If you are, then the answer is likely something like "I always wanted to make a mod with my own name in it", oh yeah, and of course because this game is stupidly easy on very hard, even for players that haven't touched a game ever.

"You can breathe. You can blink. You can cry. You can smash your keyboards, and scream at your monitor. Hell, they're all gonna be doing that."

I want details!

- all power generators have their power cut by 50%
- virtually any constructible object has their cost increased 3x
- all purchase- and rentable dormitories have their cost increased 8x
- food does no longer heal, healing items have 2x cost increase
- curing addictions cost increased 4x
- enhancing cost raised to 50.000(from 500)...we don't want to end up in this Green Jewel basement, do we?
- general increasion in legendary enemies spawning
- most of the "mother" leveled list entries have been added a 90% "no find chance"

Game setting in essence(see screenshots): mines trigger faster(try this with silenced mines to make mines a real danger), all crimes are 4x more expensive, base carry weight lowered to 100(from 130), fall damage multiplier slightly increased, detection events by enemies raised by 50%, chance of legendary enemy spawning increased 2x, "leveled" zones max levels have been increased to maximum, scan counts for flora increased 2x, damage to player 2.0(from 2.0), damage from player 2.0(from 0.5).

What does "No find chance" mean?

It means you will find virtually nothing in containers, and some of the leveled pre placed world items. In other words, scarcity has been added to Easyfield!

And yes, this includes ammunition.

Why did you remove the combat style of PEAK in your game?

Because that's actually the only thing that made PEAK what it is. A mod to allow the engine to cheat on you with a 100% hit chance from virtually any distance. I don't hit 100% of the time, specially not with the weapon mods I'm using, and specially specially not with automatic weapons, in a heated battle. So the AI shouldn't as well.

Unfortunately some of the changes in combat style also created some major AI bugs, like not reloading enemies, enemies using melee weapons only, and sometimes enemies just stupidly standing around not properly finding the route to flank me, because the actor properties haven't been brought in line with the combat style.

Apart from that most of the changes and console var game settings are in line with Combat Tweak Mods for past Bethesda Looter Shooters, like FO4, FO3, and New Vegas, so it's still a good set of tweaks.

But but but...?

Yeah, I hear you. But creating various mods in the past for Skyrim and Fallout 4 dealing with combat styles and actor ai, I know my way around.

Don't leveled Enemies are actually making the game easier?

Depends. In general no. In early game yes. And with the set of tweaks I'm using "early" is anywhere up to level 25. But beyond that leveled enemies will increase all difficulty aspects(not only combat). A leveled enemy is always at par, only slightly sub par, or majorly over par your level(and health respectively), has always the same level of weapons(and damage accordingly) as you, and will thus create much more demand for all items in your inventory. If you combine this with Desolation, Deadly Hazrd, and a good Needs Mod, you're constantly in a world full of manur, if you do not prepare yourself for all given situations.

So basically the essence of all that is "survival".

How does this apply to very easy, easy, normal, and hard difficulty?

Those words you speak, I don't know anything about them.

What's it with that whole hardcore attitude?

I was playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R with AMK Soljanka mod in the past. So in comparison we're not even close yet.

Do you have any recommendations for more mods creating hardcore?
