About this mod

The ultimate companion app for Starfield exploration & progress tracking. We all know the overwhelming size of this absolute gargantuan space sim that is Starfield. This mod simply allows you to keep track for your progress when exploring thousands of planets. It has a detailed data on all planets, moons and asteroid.

Permissions and credits
DETAILS
You can select the planet, moon or asteroid and get the details. I scraped as much as I can from what I could find online (shout out to reddit user substantial-dig-9976 who compiled the json format for the resources file and put it on pastebin) and to all the Starborn who made this possible, thanks.

What can you do in this app?
  • Check the properties of the celestial object (Type, Gravity, Temperature, Life and Resources) with Icons that you can modify and change if you want.
  • It keeps track of your logs and gives you a progress bar with percentage and ranking system.
  • Allows you to upload your own screenshots when you visit planets. (Supports PNG only for the time being)
  • Allows you to save logs per celestial body (Main reason for this apps existence really)

INSTALLATION
  • Extract it to any location you fancy (I wouldn't recommend program files folder)
  • And open StarConApp.exe
  • Done
  • Note that your progress and rank are all saved in the location you extracted it in so it is portable but don't delete files in the cap, celestials, data, img, logs and rank folder. It can break the app. Just saying.

UPDATING TO A NEW VERSION (1.3.0 -> 1.4.X)
  • Extract the new version to a new folder. Copy the cap, celestials and logs folders from v1.3.0 to v1.4.0. That is it.
  • Confirm that when you open the new version, your data is already there before discarding the older version.

v1.4.5 Updates

  • Dark Mode
  • After the app closes, it will open from the last logged place.- Edit button for your resources that will open up the raw data for you to edit. (Watch tutorial video on "omaops-tech)
  •  2K galaxy map in both dark and light theme (Credits to reddit user u/Technobabby for allowing me to use the amazing maps in the mod)
  • Alchiba VIII gravity corrected from 20.7 to 2.07. (Missed it by that much) -> Spotted it thanks to camel work's amazing video on the Alchiba System
  •  You can now update the image you upload
  •  You can now search your logs
  •  Alchiba VIII gravity corrected from 20.7 to 2.07. (Missed it by that much)

v1.4.6 Updates
  • Resources fully available for editing (Even ones with suffixes)
  • Added systems to resources that were not available on the res-raw data like the Heinlein System
  • You can now search for resources by name, planet, moon, system ...

UPDATING RESOURCES

  • I know that I don't have the data for all the resources the celestial bodies have but I have put it in a data folder so that you guys can updates what is missing manually when you come across resources.
  • To do this, open the raw-res.txt file in the data folder and you will see lines like this. "Cheyenne.Akila.Planet": ["H20", "Ni", "Al", "Ar", "C6Hn", "Co"],
  • You can edit the resources in the [ ] any way you want for the system and planet. So if you want to add lets say Lead, it would look something like this.  "Cheyenne.Akila.Planet": ["H20", "Ni", "Al", "Ar", "C6Hn", "Co", "Pb"],
  • You can even add a custom planetary object to it if you wish but stick to the format. "SYSTEM-NAME.PLANET-NAME.PLANET/MOON/ASTEROID": [LIST OF RESOURCES]

WHATS NEXT?
More updates are yet to come to this app and when CK is released, I hope to make this work in-game like a pip-boy from fallout.
I am also working on the android app for it and will release that when I get the time.

You can also find the releases here on my GitHub: https://github.com/omaops/StarConApp_Public

To all the explorers out there,
Good luck!
