      Can't you just upload the image to imgur or something?
      People need to ask for access to get to your images

      Coincidentally, I was about to post the same feedback. Characters have unnaturally vivid and bright irises.

    Thanks for the mod, one question though. Do you think in the future will be possible to put the texture mods in the game´s root directory just like FO4, my C drive is not really big and I may run of space if people start releasing mods with lots of textures.

      Yeah, the fact that the game reads from the C is worrysome for me too. I was also wondering if this doesnt make loading of those textures way slower due to (in my case) being a slower drive.

      Hi ! I don't know at the moment, but maybe with the right modding tools in the future it will be possible

      This is already possible, in your starfieldcustom.ini you need to put these two lines:

      [Display]
      sPhotoModeFolder=Photos

      [General]
      bEnableMessageOfTheDay=0

      Then in your Documents\My Games\Starfield folder you need to delete the Data (copy the contents over to your Starfield\Data folder first if you want) and the MOTD (I think that's the name, deleted mine but it's the folder for message of the day) folders. Now just install your mods into the data folder in your starfield root directory.

      That should be everything you need to do, it's been a couple weeks since I did that myself and I've since started using MO2 once I realized it worked with Starfield.

      Edit: Haha, just noticed how old these posts were, oh well I'll keep this here in case it helps anyone.

    Can't get this to work since the last game update for some reason. Tried completely removing and re installing and still it won't work anymore. I even tried to throw the files in both the My Games Starfield folder and in the root game folder as well but still no luck.

    Hi, Rufus, as an eye professional (eye surgeon) I have to tell you, you did a great job! Love your textures and would like to see them on iris print contact lenses as well.
    Good work. Mike

    sorry but whats the point to use vortex?

    It installs everything on game/data folder and not under documents/my games/starfield/... folder...

    /cheers

      There is a beta build of MO2 available that virtualizes both data locations, so it would be beneficial to still have that option available in my opinion.

      Hi Lallina. Vortex is ok, easy to use and can manage your Starfield mods under normal conditions (having your game as the destination). I use it since a long time for Skyrim, Fallout TTW and Fallout 4. I highly recommend NOT to install anything into your documents! 1) it is under control of UAC and Windows, 2)documents are on your system drive and it will be fully loaded after a while. Keep your game on a separate drive and move the data folder‘s content to your game‘s folder where it belongs (like in ALL other BGS games before). Merge the content with the one in the game‘s folder, not replace it! Then you can use Vortex as before. Culprits for the data folder constantly being recreated by the game each new start are the MOTD (message of the day) and the ingame photo mode.
      Here is a detailed description how to solve this. Have fun, Mike
      edit: I am using the simplest solution: get rid of MOTD using a line in the custom.ini and moving the photo folder (via custom.ini too). That‘s it, no Windows magic. But you can choose what you‘re comfortable with.

    Nice to see people tackling the eye colors since the vanilla ones are so weirdly pale and bright.

    I'm just a little sad that the pretty, up close screenshots I keep seeing of mods like this one only serve to illustrate one of my biggest gripes with character customization in Bethesda games ever since Fallout 4: Bethesda has unfortunately become extremely lazy when it comes to eye textures.

    Back in the era of Skyrim, the eye textures actually had both eyes in them and the textures were mirrored for good measure if they weren't colors that inherently came with one eye being blind. Most custom eye color textures followed the same premise and mirrored their own textures. This at least gave us the illusion that the eye textures weren't completely identical for both eyes. It also made modding in heterochromia or more colors with partial blindness easy. Ever since Fallout 4, however... the eye textures are now just one texture that is being used by both eyes with no mirroring. Fallout 76 presumably does this as well considering it reuses a lot of Fallout 4's assets, but I've never played it myself.

    Starfield, alas, is yet another instance of this same laziness being employed. I'm not a game developer, but I'd seriously like to know how difficult it would really be to just have whatever function is telling the game to slap that one singular eye texture on both eyes to also flip one of them. Other studios with less resources don't seem to have any problems making eye textures that don't look so copy-pasted and even natively including heterochromia.

    I'm still gonna download this and see how it looks in my game and will endorse it even if I don't end up keeping it, because modders like you are awesome for being able to give the rest of us who can't mod their way out of a paper bag more options in how we enjoy the game.

    Now I just hope someone will tackle a mod like Looking Stranger from Fallout 4 once the CK gets released. As someone who has partial heterochromia, I love being able to make characters with two different eye colors and I'm disappointed that Bethesda didn't even try to make this an option when they've basically already done all the hard work themselves by making each eye texture only contain one eye. Still not a game dev, but from what little I understand of how this sort of thing works... it really doesn't seem like it would've been all that difficult to add the ability to change the color of each eye individually in the character creator. It's especially sad considering they went to all the trouble of making a blind eye texture in the first place since the option to have one blind eye can really make for some interesting character aesthetics.

      Hello and thank you for your constructive opinion. I agree with your point of view on the situation. Unfortunately I don't think that even with the right modding tools this will be possible in the future. sad...anyway thanks for Endorsements !

      I was introduced to the feedback/suggestion box on Bethesda's website so I put something in about mirroring the eye textures and also just giving us heterochromia as a native option. I'm not holding out hope that they'll actually do anything with it as it's really just an entirely cosmetic change that only offers more character customization and immersion. Maybe someone with a say in it will see the suggestion, and if they do decide to act on it, I'll get to be pleasantly surprised.

      its honestly baffling the color array we are given. Especially for those who want dark brown eyes one of the most common eye color, there is no option. I think the character customization while in depth of individual parts of face anatomy. Still isn't giving full control like it gives the illusion of doing. You're blending in features from other presets, instead of actually pushing and pulling parts of the face around. Blending from how much of this and that from presets is terrible.

    Does this help fix the “watery” eyes issue for NPCs? There is a mod that does, but doubt it would be compatible. Great work!
