Version 1.4.4
Categories and tabs has gotten an overhaul, with quite a few new Bits to spawn.
The tab for Akila sheds have been properly introduced and spawn with tarp roofs.
Move controls/buttons are now on it's own window separate from the BuildBits menu. (Meaning you can have main menu minimized but still have the move controls up or the other way around and can move them around individually)
When you spawn something in, it will be rotated to the games world angle! Now the controls move things with more logic and ease, and this also means the bits are spawned in at the same angle, and it is a lot easier to align.
Outpostarea should work smoother now, but make sure it doesn't say any errors in console window after running it to be safe, if that happens, just give it another go.
Using most buttons will now automatically tab you back into the game. Meaning, using buttons and features are much smoother as you wont have to click/tab into game after minimizing, moving windows and such.
Quite a few overhaul fixes that still need work but makes a lot feel smoother, more stabile and less bugginess.
Version 1.3
Added a "Floor" tab in Buildings category
Added proper scaling to different resolutions and DPI scale, hopefully it works better now for everyone!
Changed the sliders to be easier to access
Some minor updates for stability and efficiency
Version 1.2
Added minimize mode, improved move window so everything moves with it, some dynamic values to make windows adjust position to the users monitor and a few other fixes
After weeks of intense research, coding, graphics, digging through files it finally came together.
BuildBits is for the visual builder, that doesn't want to have to get ID codes out and all the commands memorized. This way we can all build and select game assets to spawn from a menu with images. But it's more than that, you can move things around, duplicate, make the area allow outpost or even spawn in an outpost beacon if necessary.
These are early versions of this mod and the focus has been to make it functional to have a good base to build on further. This means MUCH MORE is going to be added, both build parts and settings, and it might have some bugs and issues that needs to be worked on further.
Features in BuildBits:
A menu-overlay that stays on top of the game, can be minimized
Build parts like walls and doors, just click on the image of what you want to spawn in (More is added with upcoming updates)
Hundreds of props sorted in categories with images
Buttons for moving anything around, duplicating, disabling and such
Outpost settings tab where you can make an area allow to build an outpost the normal way, and also spawn a beacon but use this only if the area doesn't allow you to build outpost normally AFTER having clicked on outpost area prep button!
Slider for how far you move something with one buttonpress making it possible to move something really far or just nudge it a tiny bit. I don't know about you guys, but personally I needed this!!

When you spawn something in, it will be rotated to the games world angle! This also means the bits are spawned in at the same angle, and it is a lot easier to align.
Spawn custom ID, you can also use any ID you might have stumbled on. It spawn in with reset rotation and placement aswell!

How to use:
Just unzip anywhere and start BuildBits with the application file! You might need to tell antivirus/firewall to allow it. Also run as administrator if needed.
The application works through the console commands ingame, so you need to have the console window open when using the buttons in BuildBits.
Other than that, it's pretty much click and go! If you click on any buttons it will only work in Starfield and it will even tab into the game if you have it running.
Youtube tutorial:
Also a disclamer, this is the first thing I have ever coded. Ever. I ran on pure stubbornness to learn and build this from being so dissappointed that there wasn't anything close to Fallout 4 building. And NO I CAN'T FRIKKIN WAIT FOR Creation kit!! Who knows how many months away that is!
I hope you guys get what I hope out of this, I built this for anyone who feels like me about the lacking outpost building system. This is what I wanted, and I couldn't wait to share it with you so we all can start building our ridiculously over the top detail oriented planets. But bare with me, I am still learning how to make this possible and there might be bugs and issues happening. Right now this is a fairly straight forward script so I can't mess too much up ;)
Remember:
SAVE THE GAME before messing with anything like this mod. It isn't a part of the game and naturally that means it can mess things up.
Disable button will disable what you have selected in the console so be careful when using it so you don't remove the wrong thing! If you do, type "Enable" and it will come back as long as you still have it picked or know the ID and didn't use "markfordelete".
Markfordelete will remove selected object forever so it doesn't secretly load assets that aren't there. BuildBits doesn't use it unless you check the box for it.
