Downloaded a fancy new Weapon Mod but the HUD icon of your weapon is still that boring old vanilla image?
Well, this short guide is for you!

I already replaced several weapons in my game with Star Wars counterparts and wanted to see what I'm using in my HUD, too.
So here I will offer different already made custom weapon icons.
Please don't request any new icons as I will only add those I am using for my own playthrough. You can do it yourself with a free graphic software like GIMP.

+++ What do you need?
- the two files provided by me in the Download section if you don't already have them in your Data/interface folder
- JPEX Free Flash Decompiler -> Download
- my .png files in the Download section or a software like GIMP to make your own custom icons

+++ How to make your own icons
1) open weaponicons.gfx or weaponicons.swf with JPEX FF Decompiler
2) open the "sprites" section on the left and search for the weapon which icon you want to replace
3) Right click and choose "Export selection"
4) Open the exported image and the image you want it to replace with in your graphic software
5) The new image has to be the same size (width and height) as the original
6) Save the new image as .png (transparent background)

+++ How to replace the icon
1) open weaponicons.gfx and weaponicons.swf with JPEX FF Decompiler
2) open the "sprites" section on the left and search for the weapon which icon you want to replace
3) Look up the number under "Needed Characters" in the info of the sprite
4) Search for that number in the "shapes" section
5) Varify it is the right icon. Right click and choose "Replace"
6) Pick the new icon you created or downloaded.
7) Save!


Here are some icons I created for my own. You can download them under "Files".
If an icons looks like it is squeezed/clinched, it is most likely because it isn't the same size as the original.
In brackets is the weapon I replaced. If you choose to replace the icon of another weapon with my images, it may look not right.
