The mod is extremely helpful when facing terrormorphs, since they usually only ever attack with melee. Shame that most of the aliens in this game have a melee damage reflection property when I finally get around to attacking them. Is there any way to remove this? Feels kinda stupid.
not modding specific, but melee + stealth can be pretty good. I use the combat and stealth AI overhaul mod, which also alters damage dealt, damage taken and HP scaling of player and enemy NPCs. Together with that mod and some stealthy "void form" Starborn powers I can reliably one shot stealth kill most grunts. Just don't try to melee the leader of the group, cause he won't die fast enough/ rip you to shreds in milliseconds, the moment he knows where you are. (for that we'd either need melee dmg way up or more reliable hit stagger. But tbh outside of stealth killing I don't think melee combat is fun in Starfield, where everyone runs around with cool guns.)
Game actually makes for a pretty fun stealth experience this way. Grunts may realize you exist, but don't know where you are when you go invisible with void form. They'll shoot where they last seen you or towards the general direction where you last made too much noise and stuff. You really feel like the predator, when you start playing with your prey like that! >:)
Yup, I just started a Ronin playthrough and I'm working my way up to this. Although I went with Ixion's own stealth and combat tweaks (and modified them slightly).
I highly recommend the extended slide distance mod. I love sliding straight at enemies and stabbing them right in the face with a power attack for massive damage while I'm still sliding.
In my tests increasing this value is not really necessary. I included it so that if there are ways to increase block damage mitigation and if this setting still works as with previous games the maximum health damage mitigation can be further increased to 100%.
It's certainly possible that the game setting is unused though. I'd suggest not touching it.
