If there's enough attention I might implement other features. I created this mostly out of spite and for personal use. Starfield should've had this on day one, but here we are.
If DLSS options are greyed out, check the log file and ensure nvngx_dlss.dll and nvngx_dlssg.dll are in the correct directories as mentioned on the main page.
When DLSS Quality Preset is set to Auto, a ratio is used: render resolution width divided by your screen resolution width. Dynamic resolution is automatically factored into this. Ratio >= 99% -> DLAA. Ratio >= 67% -> Max Quality. Ratio >= 58% -> Balanced. Ratio >= 50% -> Max Performance.
There's two main bugs in Starfield with frame generation active. Evidently the patches don't always work. If you hit bug #1 or bug #2, I can't help you. You'll have to try one of the alternative mods.
1. Crashing during loading screens or in areas with heavy asset streaming. "Heavy asset streaming" can include grav jumps and aiming down scopes.
2. Flickering geometry. This is usually in the form of black rectangles or the sun appearing to dim.
How is this mod not needed after 1.86?? Still so needed!!! I have a gtx960m which does not support dlls at all and in the game it doesn’t even let me select dls, there is no such function. Could you tell me how to update this mod? So what should Bethesda do now if this mod doesn’t work after the update and Bethesda won’t let me turn on dlss officially?? According to Bethesda, games have now become for the rich with RTX3000, so maybe next RTX5000, RTX6000 to minimal setting . Bethesda is complete crap, I'm so sick of it, I wish Bethesda would rot. It's time to delete this s#*! Starfield.
Could you please release the source code? I want to look into adding FSR3 and it would be nice to have a reference to your hooks on FSR2 and streamline.
Hmm... Does everyone think that Bethesda's DLSS will be better than Streamline Native? 🙄 --- UPD. The most funny thing - Bethesda's Frame Generation does not work for me. It drops FPS to 7. Nukem, please update the mod, I need it. 😑
Just updated the game to 1.8.86 and I just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work that you put into this awesome mod. For me this is by far the best DLSS mod for Starfield.
Thank you for this excellent mod nukem, you made starfield playable for for me before official dlss framegen was added. Your fg mod was the best of them all in my opinion with the ingame settings menu and was the only mod that worked for me. Great work.
Thanks for this, it is totally awesome even though I don't currently use it for the reasons that follow...
Basically, I see absolutely zero difference in performance with it on vs off. I tried in visually complex scenes vs simple staring at the floor, and also CPU taxing city scenes vs. chilling in some outpost hab when my fan is barely going at all, and either way my FPS is the same toggling it on/off.
I am almost thinking it requires a full exit -> reload game cycle to take effect. That would make more sense.
I was also curious, how feasible it would be to have a community mod like this for FSR3?
NVIDIA having an absolute monopoly on the video card market is catastrophic for gamers. It means prices on these cards can continue to double and triple as we have seen with zero incentive to behave responsibly in a sane way that benefits humanity.
It would have been so much better for everyone if FSR3 had shipped in a working state with Starfield release. But it would be the perfect time to get it out there now BEFORE Bethesda updates with DLSS3/FG (I have no idea why they would add this before their partner AMD's solution), so people don't feel compelled to go get fleeced by NVIDIA's greedy self-scalping tactics.
A "superior" solution that is being artificially limited by a monopoly corporation to the 40 series cards which they have tripled the price on since people just accept there is no competition so they believe there is nothing stopping them just screwing over humanity "because that is the thing smart successful people do."
At least AMD's solution will work on ANY card from the 20 series generation (AMD or NVIDIA) and higher, proving NVIDIA's BS about older cards "not being able to handle it" is just marketing propaganda that people with too much dollars and not enough sense will happily swallow.
Personally I would rather live in a world where competition exists. The fact AMD is creating solutions that work for everyone makes me feel theirs is ultimately the superior solution, once the kinks are worked out.
From lying about their revenue from crypto being from their gaming segment to lying frame generation won't work on even 30 series cards to sell 40 series for 3x the price, NVIDIA has proven they are better at corpo scumming than actual innovation.
Just because AMD might be morally superior, you don't get a better experience with FSR 3. FSR 3 does not work with variable refresh rate, and you have to enforce V-sync, as per AMD's guides. You also get higher input latency compared to Frame Generation. Compound that with FSR 2's flickering and ghosting issues and you get a much worse experience in every regard with FSR.
True, you have to pay a premium for Frame Generation, but it's a lot more mature technology. It works with VRR, It's available in a lot more games, it receives frequent updates, and it's easy to implement in games. AMD has yet to release an SDK for FSR 3, and there's no word for when it will be available exactly. This means that independent developers and modders can't even work on implementing it in games.

Delete StreamlineNative.dll and the corresponding nv-streamline folder.
Thank you all for the support.
