For those waiting for a patch for the icons mod, it's still on the way. I'm at work for the next 8 hours but it'll be up after that. I'd highly recommend using StarUI instead for now because it adds icons and sorting via them directly via the .SWF files. So there is no conflict, nevertheless if you can wait, the patch and fomod installer will be out soon, I am overhauling the way I made the mod so it can have different versions without the manual struggle of finding every line ;P
This mod is interferes with the way starfield manages strings in the new update. It will still run in game but certain UI elements will return {LOOKUP FAILED}. I really like this mod so an update to fix the strings would be legendary.
How did you edit and repack the starfield_en.strings file?
I've figured out the .strings/.ilstrings/.dlstrings file format, but I'm wondering if there's an existing tool to edit it. Can't see a way to do it with xTranslate, but I see a translate_en.txt file in the manual package... so I'm probably just being dumb, because I haven't figured out how to use xTranslate to create a .txt file and then convert it back to a .strings file.
It means when you hit install, it even gives you options. It's a kind of installer designed for Vortex. I'd recommend if you've made 110 nexus posts and you're asking this, to do some light reading.
I have no idea what number of posts have to do with anything...but thanks for linking that FAQ! Which I didn't know existed until now so, thank you very much!
If I was actually a funny person maybe hahaha. I've got a few different versions in the works. I'm trying to release them all at once though so I don't have to keep repacking files over and over.
But what about Clutter begone mod and the patch for Clutter Begone + Icon Sorting Tags lol? Seems the bat file remains superior at the moment. But nice effort. I cant live without those two mods. Plus the bat file is highly customizable..
@BugattiXxXEchelon because that mod uses an .esp file there should actually be no clash, it even makes it's own .ilstrings, .dlstrings and .strings file per langauge. Should theoretically work.
Hi there Thanks for the mod, it does work and I can see the changed dialogue but do you have a potential fix for the text disappearing too quickly? I have other user interface mods (Icons, subtitles, menu's etc) running at 120fps and they're not having the same issues so my theory is currently this isn't optimized for 120fps? Would love a work-around solution cos atm the new dialogue disappears just when I'm about to read it
This mod actually doesn't touch any of the .swf files that those mods do, I could add .swf edits but then I have a whole new set of conflicts. Meaning you couldn't install this mod alongside a HUD overhaul.
No that's allg, thanks for the explanation. I've looked it up and apparently it's a Starfield issue overall cos other players have complained about notifications for things like outposts/encumberance etc not appearing long enough to read (both modded and unmodded). It's a nuisance but I can live with it until Bethesda or some other modder comes up with a fix

This mod, cannot thusly, legally include any punctuation.
Your Thoughts Are Your Own
I actually saw this after uploading mine and thought, I should take mine down but the .bat file was a deal breaker for me

I do understand the frustration though...
