About this mod

Equalizes player and enemy damage multipliers at all difficulties to eliminate bullet sponges. Higher difficulties will result in everyone doing more damage.

WARNING: The plugin version is highly experimental. It was made by overwriting the plugin header of a Fallout 4 plugin, with that of one of the Starfield DLC plugins. I have tested it and confirmed it is working, but due to differences between plugin formats for the game there may be other issues. Don't complain if your save breaks.

Summary

Equalizes the difficulty damage multipliers for the player and enemies. Higher difficulties will result in everyone doing more damage. For instance on very hard difficulty, the Player will now do 2x damage instead of 0.5x damage, and NPCs will continue to do 2x damage. On Easy, the Player will now do 0.75x damage, and enemies will continue to do the same.

Batch File Version

This version uses a batch file of console commands to change the Game Settings values at launch. It is much safer and recommended for now. To Install:

  • Place the RealisticDamageMultipliers.txt in your Starfield root directory (not Data)
  • In your StarfieldCustom.ini in your Documents\My Games\Starfield folder (create this text file if it does not exist) add these lines:

    [General]
    sStartingConsoleCommand=bat RealisticDamageMultipliers
  • If you have more mods using this starting console command method, you may separate the commands with semicolons, for instance:

    [General]
    sStartingConsole Command=bat RealisticDamageMultipliers;bat HypotheticalMod1;bat HypotheticalMod2
    Plugin Version

    This version is an experimental .esm file, converted from Fallout 4 that changes the Game Settings in data. It is mostly here for curiosity, until a full version of xEdit comes out that can create Starfield plugins. To Install:

  • Place the RealisticDamageMultipliers.esm in your Starfield\Data directory
  • In your StarfieldCustom.ini in your Documents\My Games\Starfield folder (create this text file if it does not exist) add these lines:

    sTestFile1=RealisticDamageMultipliers.esm
  • If you have more mods using this test file method, you may increase the number of the test file up to 10, for instance:

    [General]
    sTestFile1=RealisticDamageMultipliers.esm
    sTestFile2=HypotheticalMod1.esm
    sTestFile3=HypotheticalMod2.esp
