A little bit of a hail mary here, but does anyone use the No Fog mod? Without fog, there's a lot of shimmering/poor anti-aliasing when looking through windows.
If anyone happens to use both this and No Fog mod, let me know if you've seen improvements on that.
I use no fog mod - btw if someone doesn't, I absolutely recommend it, the game looks million times better! - and the glass looks like the sort of hard-to-see-through-glass you put on your toilet window.
Are you using FSR2 by chance? It produces a lot of flickering artifacts on distant objects. If you are, go grab one of the DLSS mods. The image quality with DLSS is SO much better than FSR2 it's ridiculous.
Love the concept, but not so much a fan of the end result. For example, using the default Vanilla More Transparent version, which is meant to be more "subtle." Got into a firefight on a base, chased someone into a room where they sat crouched in the middle of a room and taking no damage from shots.
Finally dawned on me after watching them cover leaning right in plain sight that they ran into a bathroom and were hiding behind a glass shower wall. 100% couldn't see it until I was right on top of it, and had to waste time trying to determine where the glass edge was.
Not sure if that version is meant to make distance glass 100% invisible, but if given the choice for more transparent glass or actually being able to see it from a distance (especially in fire fights), I sadly had to choose to disable this.
100% agree. I think this is the best I can do for now. Tested a lot of different things and until I can actually edit the shaders/materials, all I can do is edit the 1 glass texture file. Its used for like... EVERYTHING in the game. On some things it looks great and then on others it looks almost entirely transparent. I'll release an update one the CK comes out and I can modify things further. Thanks for the feedback! :)
I actually came back to say how much I'm loving the Less visible one lol. I'm running into windows, missing shots cause people are behind things, glass stairs look like you're walking on air. It's like that commercial where the glass is too clean and the birds keep hitting it. =D
My attempt at giving it a texture without it looking so opaque as in the vanilla. I think the Vanilla versions are much better. Once the Creation Kit comes out I hope to edit the materials to give the glass a better effect. Right now I can only edit the texture 😔
It's the "fake shine"/dirt textures that are a big problem, obscuring the view on one side of the glass. A cheap effect that Bethsoft used to make the glass windows/cockpit look sortof realistic if you aren't paying attention.
That fake shine and dirt needs to be removed from the textures, the transparency of vanilla is fine imho
Thank you for taking the time to explore the ugly glass issue :D

Still endorsed as works as (mostly) advertised.
