Notes about v1.0.2+: The files were properly updated, and they are no longer split into 2 linked .rar files.
Which means you can download and use Balanced Mode Version Part 1 and 2 separately since they are now two distinct .ba2 files.
Or simply use both of them ( Recommended ).
I'm at the moment testing upgrades on .ba2 files to version 3 and will be keeping the files updated after testing everything properly.

I recommend the "Performance mode - 512 .Ba2" for GTX970 players. Before I had just under 10 FPS,
    ULTRA SETTINGS
    now I have 30-35 FPS.
    ULTRA SETTINGS

    My Sys Spec:
    MSI X570-A PRO (MOBO)
    ASUS-STRIX GTX970 (GPU)
    Ryzen 5600X (CPU)
Corsair VENGEANCE® RGB PRO 16GB (RAM) 3600 MHZ

    Maybe it will help someone.
And before I forget, thank you for this wonderful and really useful MOD.

Are you sure, you are playing "ULTRA" settings with this mod on 512?

Fantastic texture pack, Performance texture pack finally stopped all the GPU "limp home" low power mode whenever I went in and out of menus. Steady 1080p60 on a 3050Ti laptop with power to spare!

I wonder why the developers did not bother to optimize the textures, now the game runs as well as everything else in my library. Before, it was 100 CPU 100 GPU just staring at a wall on an empty map!

hi there, mod works fine lightening the load but it seems weirdly incompatible with the latest addition of fsr frame gen. when this mod is installed and frame gen is enabled: the sound cuts off randomly, patches of ground textures become blurry, the game freezes for a sec when i initiate dialogue or open a menu.  all gets well again when i disable frame gen.

i have a 1080 ti and the game is installed on a nvme ssd.

you need to delete nvidia and starfield texture cache and recompile shaders

yup, tried that among other things. seems the game is just terribly unoptimized. any texture mod installed hard crashes the graphics driver.

Hi. Is it normal that after installation im MO2 archives tad i see this aarchive unticked meaning unmanaged. I tried to drop it in games data folder and instaled with MO2 got same result.
Im using Performance mode - 512.Ba2

Gonna extract archive and see if that works

This modder is my new god, I will start building churches immediatly, all except bethesda are welcome to join!
after SO much research and effort nothing but this actually boosted my performance to a noticable degree, i dont mean just a lil, as a test i went to new atlantis and put it on ultra when i was at the absolute lowest before and Still getting nosebleeds(joke) from all the stuttering, and i mean i literally kept saying holy crap, even starting a riot just to test the fps during in city combat on ultra its freakin working gloriously i can actually enjoy this game thanks to you!

hey! Thanks for this mod. Then I wanted to know if there was a way to be sure that the mod is installed correctly?

    i5 9600k
    RTX 3070
    16 RAM
    SSD

And somehow, using the Balance made no different. Tested on New Atlantis. 25fps before the install, and still 25fps after it. And yes, I followed the direction as described. Put the ba2 files into the Data folder in the directory, and put their name with extension into the Starfield.ini under archive and after texture patch as shown in the image.

It's probably because you're not GPU bound. If CPU is the issue then this mod won't help as much.

Turns out I just needed to clean the cpu cooler from dust. Temperature dropped down dramatically and stops the cpu bottleneck.

It's because the game needs a nvme to send the data for textures and effects. Any other storage device gets reduced performance even with a texture overhaul. I went from 15fps to 45fps without upscaling on a Titan X (Pascal) at medium 1920x1080 settings.

this really cool, we need mods like this for poorly produced final products, but anyone to have this not affect at least player textures? dof blurs everything else out anyway, i already installed singular 1k to 2k outfit textures and skin and all that so if i now install this im gna have to install all those mods to have it replace the selective textures again?

If MO2 supports adding files manually like Vortex it should be possible.  However I would rename the files correctly and add an empty .esm to load them in the game first.

It reduced 1.5 gigs of VRAM, I managed to lock 30 fps in this shitty city with the GTX 1060 (RX 580) the frs at 60%, the shadow and reflections at medium and the gtao at high, the sharpness at maximum.
