Hello, got everything setup. Met the pre-skill requirements. When I board the ship, the modules don't load and I end up falling into the ablssy. Any recommendation?
I'm sorry. That's an very old savefile. I haven't took it down yet, cause it were my first file and the very first M-class ship ever, here on the nexus. And i think it was also the biggest ever made. I just kept it as memory and the pictures to inspire others to build such a ship. I guess there were been to many updates in the meantime, so that this particular savefile won't work anymore. I desperately tried to rebuild this impressive bulk in the Creation Kit but this hasn't work either. It's simply to big for that and the Creation Kit crashes every time during the nav-mesh process. I think I have to take it down or need to make an in game YouTube build tutorial for it. I know that I should maintain my mods more, but this cost very much time, which i don't have at the moment. Truly sorry for that.
I'm currently working on a version that I'm building in the CK, using the Ship Vendor Framework. Let's see if it works. So maybe she will soon be available for purchase, for everyone in every universe. Hopefully the new DLC won't change that much to the existing shipbuilder. I would also be very happy about new modules, but not if in return all the mods are broken/outdated again for weeks.
Unfortianitly very rough, building such mass in the editor from the Creation Kit comes with several other troubles. First i got to past all the most usual flight errors. Which wasn't so easy because It's no problem to load mods into the editor. But I also use some Scripts Commmands for Console Command Runner. They wont be loaded. Also i think i need to double my RAM this month. I run on 32 GB which is enough for every game. But the recommendations for the CK are 48 GB, and what I'm trying to build here really push the limits. But i still will proceed with this, so don't worry. It may take some more time. Also got a hickup this week cause i somehow bugged the CK. Got to reinstall my hole PC. side note, i discovered when i add a ship via CK and Ship Verdor Framework, i can't do anything on the price. So this thing will cost around 18 million Creds, you may start saving some money ;)
aye this ...i just picked up four 32 gb ddr5 chips and brought one miniax8 up to 64 and two minia8s up to 48 each and the ck is noticably affected in throughput by available ram you wont regret that investment to run the ck smoother
Thanks for this monster of a ship, but yes, it seems things are missing and I even copied your load order.
Was hoping this would work as it seems you are the only one to create an M class ship that actually has an interior, so I appreciate the extra effort there also! 👍
Thanks so much. Let me guess, it's all the observation decks? But are available in the shipbuilder, right? You know, this is exactly where the problem with my load order lies. To my shame, I have to admit that I'm German and have no idea about editing scripts, n stuff. I'm just a gamer and a craftsman. In addition, I also switched to Mod Organizer 2 at Starfield. It also has 2 lists. Unfortunately I gave you the wrong one. I have no idea what the correct is since I reinstalled everything. I screwed up on that point, sorry. But the claim that my ship is the only functional M-Class confirms that I am moving forward with my project, fast! Because I'm working hard on a new, better version in the CK. With fewer mods and an even better interior. But I also have countless new bugs that prevent me from proceed and publishing it. For example, I have to leave the Matilija Battlestations empty because the weapons are installed backwards. They fire forward but are facing back. Looks stupid. In addition, empty stations leave more for the individual. The Rev-8 spawns 240 meters somewhere below the snout, sometimes to the left, sometimes to the right!? Sometimes while Navmeshing the hole thing, it moves and bugs with the center of the landing pad. Guess while that it moved the Rev-8. And i can't even imagine how often CK chrashed since i use it. The latest bug is that my Place Doors Yourself ladders no longer work. Or maybe they've never worked, at all. I'm not 100% sure about that. I usually use a boostback. Also in my test runs. Now I was in this level 1 save before I built this version here and had to discorver that. The connection is there, but I can't activate ladders and climb. But I'm pretty sure it's worked before. I've now tried it over a dozen times to build this ship in CK and have probably used a ladder at times. Especially at her back by the Deimos Neck. I think I have to flatten everything again. Well, I have a long weekend ahead of me. We have some sort of holiday in our country. So stay attentive, because I believe or hope that it won't be long before my ship is available for purchase.
The reason I appreciate your effort so much is because when it comes to furnishing the ship, it takes long enough for me to do a small one, to have to deal with the interior of your monster, that's a huge project but totally worth it! Your ship is the best M class I've seen and it's stylish too, so I want to thank you for all the hair you are pulling out trying to get this to work, hopefully by the end of the project you'll have some hair left 😉.
P.S. When I think of Capital Ship, I think of your monster of a ship, not one that would just overfill a landing pad. ‼️❣️
I know what you mean. My very first version was empty. I had to put some furnished Habs in there. It was real spooky, surreal. And decorating it by myself? And when i wanna play? Would take a hole lifetime. But i'm defently thinking of puting up an empty version again. Or more empty habs Cause recently this little baby dropped. Furnish Your Fleet Not sure about that. Didn't even tried it yet. But from what i see, an empty version and this could be great together. What do you think? Empty? Or more like this version? Two versions would be awesome. But by the amount of bugs i'm trying to fix i hope that one can make her way to the Vendor and on Nexus. Windows is already new installed, by the way. Tommorow i will know if i can get it to work again. My internet connection sucks.
Sorry to hear about your internet connection, I don't know what I'd do if it were shitty!
When I first loaded your save, I didn't understand what I was looking at, so I decided to give it a go and build my own capital, and I used the Fortuna Habs as my captains quarters. However it was just a flat and long ship, and realized two things, I'm horrible at cowlings, and secondly, the ship would need levels like with what you did on your ship.
At least now with my experience I know what I'm looking at and can work at fixing your ship in the save game, it's two times the size of what I created, plus I really like the bones of your design.
The only issue I found was companions don't seem to be able to move around the other Aerospace modules easily, which makes having a big ship with multiple companions seem kind of mute. Did you see the same thing when you had a companion inside?
To answer your questions, my take is to do an empty and a furnished one, only if you have time for both. If you only have time for one, I'd go with the empty one, this way people can put in what they like.
Yes, companions are a bit of a problem. I haven't noticed that they don't move through the Matilija modules, but I could imagine that it's because they don't contain any crew markers. However, companions have the opportunity to spawn somewhere else. Which can also be a problem. Because if the companion spawns in the hab below you but the distance is too far because there is no direct connection, it could happen that you are forever looking for the right companion. In terms of size, it's more suitable for more crew members than the maximum of 8. The Gang's All Here - Multiple Companions and Crew is a mod i always wanted to try with that ship but i barely playing the last days.
I'm glad you at least seem to be able to finish it somehow. Unfortunately, that will probably also be the case with my new version. Because the fact that the ladders from Place Doors Yourself don't work properly will remain for the time being. And building it without PDY is almost impossible. Without it, too many doors open that lead to nowhere or into the empty spine of the ship. But I won't let that stop me from putting my ship into play. I minimized the number of ladders so that in the end only a few had to be rebuilt. But then there are 6 points in the ship that you have to work on yourself. I will also add a YouTube video of how and where this is done.
But when you say that you're not that good at covering it, that brings me to this. Do you know this video?
It helped me incredibly with my build and also gave me the idea of the pulpit at the bottom like a zeppelin. Good tutorial.
The only thing with PDY is you did the same thing I was doing at first, thinking I had to put a blind or a door in front of an area I wanted to place a window. If you use the pass through door, and you mount a window on the outside, it will appear normal, I know that was something that annoyed me.
Going through your ship, nothing was missing other than the observatories, last time I had a different load order and it was disconnected, but with this new load order (all the ship building things first) I'm able to go everywhere so I've already started playing on the new save and seems to be working ok. I really love your ship, especially when I get lost, that's the point right? lol
No I didn't know about the video, I'll take a look at it, thank you!
I'm on it. Trying real hard. But the Creation Kit is a very unstable programm and keep crashing. Also i encounter some other bugs as in the usuall Shipbuilder. Especially with the center of the landing pad (ship lands somewhere). So it's a long process. But I'm on a good way now and think in the next two weeks, or so. Like i said, i'm trying hard. By the way, can you tell me something about what i wrote on the top in description and my sticky post? Am i the only one, who is missing the DerreTech Redux parts, when i load this save?
Thanks. Would be great to know if i just screwed it up for myself, somehow. Cause people are still downloading but nobodys is complaining that something is missing.
For any mod to work, you need to install Starfield Script Extender (SFSE), and need to edit or create a StarfieldCustom.ini file. Mostly under Documents. Depending on your Mod Manager. It's usually common knowlege. So, I just mentioned it shortly in that way. What Manager are u gonna use?
Manually? Respect! I did that before, with Fallout 3, New Vegas. But there were only 5 or 6 mods that I used. With Skyrim and Fallout 4 I had to use managers because the number of mods kept increasing. Although I keep things organized and create clear folder structures when installing, I still think that if I did it manually, I would have a broken game within a day. lol
I have an off-topic question if you don't mind since you're a ship building master -- a while back I saw a Ship Builder mod that removes unnecessary items in ship builder that boosted performance. Something about how each grid/cross on the builder was counted as an item/asset which costed so much performance and was also removed -- do you happen to know what mod that was? I forgot about it and never found it again.
Thanks for your comment. Totally get you. That i uploaded her was first more some sort of spontaneous action. Because i was asked to do so, after i posted some pics on Facebook. Then 1 or 2 days later, Matilija's Aerospace published his new version 4.0 which left my ship like some sort of boned fish. Everybody want's the new Update and the elevators. Hell, i want it! So i thought to myself: ''ok?, if i had to build her up again I'll do it this this time on a New Game, for more People to enjoy''. But to get back to your original question. I plan to do so. Shortly after ship vendor framework was released they also linked down a video, showing how this works. And even with my less English exp i thought: ''ok, it's not that hard, i can do it''. At that time it was about a completely different ship. So i launched up the CK and run into my first troubles and put it away. Future troubles. Now, that I'll have this beast on hand, i am definitely trying to get ahead of these problems. Then i watched some more video's of people showing how to launch up CK for good and creating a simple mod. Didn't came to the last part. I know these people are trying to help other people somehow. But they are also running in their own troubles, as well. CK seems even for those a huge thing who has English in commen, with more options and functions most of us people will never know. And if you only have a limited ability to speak English then that can scare you more than help you. So if you can recommend any good videos about the CK, showing people actual knowing what they doing, who ideally speak clearly and calmly. I would be thankful for that. I also thought, maybe i have that problems because i use Mod Organizer 2. As far as i know it's the only one which works otherwise, by installing the mods not to the game folder.
Here's an example of someone who added their ships to the Vendor framework: https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/11503 . Why don't you ask that person how to add to a framework which already does most of the work instead of you trying to reinvent something that is already there.

The weekend before Shattered Space i reinstalled everything new including Windows, cause i expiriencing some bugs in the Creation Kit.
I set up everything new and the DerreTech Legacy Redux parts are available in the shipbuilder but not present on my ship!? At least for me.
If anyone having the same issue please report this here.
If it works fine, a note would also be nice. Cause i honestly got no clue.
Thanks y'all.
Aber dafür lad ich mir kein Savegame runter :(
Gibts dafür eine Bauanleitung? :P

"Yo"

Keep firing, arseholes!"
