About this mod

A diverse collection of modded ships, featuring a unique design aesthetic that stays relatively close to pre-existing lore while packing significantly enhanced power

This mod collects some of my modded spaceship designs from the r/StarfieldShips subreddit.

Features

  • 14 diverse designs, ranging from class A to class C. Fly a small, agile fighter, a lumbering cargo hauler, or an oversized frigate packing enough firepower to obliterate a capital ship.
  • A unique design aesthetic that takes full advantage of overlapping and modded parts to create beautiful, distinctive ships.
  • Enhanced combat power. Featuring shield boosters, exotic weaponry and high-performance engines, the ships in this mod are easily capable of surviving encounters in space, even on the hardest difficulties.
  • Fully usable interiors. Modded and merged designs frequently give up usability in pursuit of looks, with habs that are inaccessible or blocked by structural parts. The ships in this mod are meant to be lived in, not just admired from afar: all interiors are unobstructed and feature logical layouts, crafting workbenches, and bunks for every crew member (save for the smallest ship, a short-range fighter).
  • Immersion friendly. Many modded ships have extravagantly inflated stats, such as multiple reactors or shield generators, vast numbers of guns, or massive cargo capacity. While there's nothing wrong with this (it's a single-player game after all), the ships here are more subtle, with nothing that goes too far beyond the bounds of the base game: all have 40 power or less, top speeds are what you'll find in vanilla, and many have even less than 100 mobility (!). Futhermore, all ships have short backstories that reconcile their modded gear with pre-existing lore.

To see a catalog of the ships available, check the terminal on the wall outside Agent Plato's office. You'll find it in the AEGIS headquarters in the MAST building, New Atlantis.

Notes

This mod has the following prerequisites:
  • Avontech (minimum version 2.1.1)
  • Matilija Aerospace (minimum version 5.02)
  • Better Ship Part Flips (minimum version 1.3.0)
  • Better Ship Part Snaps
  • Place Doors Yourself
  • Empty 1x1 Habs
  • 1-Of-A-Kind Ships
  • Ship Vendor Framework
  • Ship Builder Categories

In particular, see the mod description page for the Ship Vendor Framework if you're having trouble getting the ships to show up.

If you don't already have Place Doors Yourself installed, you'll find that your current ships no longer have doors or ladders after you install it. Just go into the ship builder and (as the name says) place them yourself. The ships in this mod have doors and ladders already placed.

All ships are fully editable. If you want to customise them, it's highly recommended to install a mod that removes the part overlap and part count limits, such as Ship Building Tweaks.

The vendor UI truncates the price of a ship at 6 digits (999,999 credits); most of these cost significantly more.

The cockpits of the Spartan and Atalanta are buried inside the hull, which means they have to be flown in 3rd person view.

Several designs use the slim screendoor landing bay from 1-Of-A-Kind Ships, which sits on the 2nd level of the ship. To access it from outside, jump up to an invisible platform located a little bit ahead of it. Fast travelling to and from the ship c0ckpit works as normal. There is also a glitch where Vasco will be located outside the ship when in space; you can use Andromeda Kepler instead if you don't want him spoiling the view but still want the extra power pip from Aneutronic Fusion.

If you run into problems, or to provide feedback, you can post on r/StarfieldShips or on the Starfield Ship Distribution Discord: https://discord.gg/wuvaYAsuAc. Many thanks to Sadyr_machiba and Downfallnemesis for their help with getting the scripting right.
