Do you think we could get a patch/version to work with Green and Gold (a mod that lets you open GalBank accounts) to have the funds deposit into your GalBank account instead of the courier ship? I think I have been having issues with the payment delivery ship weirding out my game when I jump and it is supposed to show up, but I had PC issues that I'm just now recovering from before I could test further. But also I just like the idea.
I'm honestly not opposed to making said patch myself, but I'm still a bit short on mod creation time for a while.
My apologies for not responding sooner; life interferes sometimes.
I'll have a look at Green and Gold when I get an opportunity, but that probably won't be for quite a long while. Sorry. However, I'm happy for you or anyone else to make a patch.
I think there may be a bit of confusion over the issue of the 'courier ship'. My mod doesn't actually add any ship. I simply included a reference to a courier ship in the jokey, advert style blurb to explain away the fact that funds are just automagically given to you wherever you are. But the mechanism I use is exactly the same as when you get a payment from a quest giver or from a mission board - the credits just go into your inventory and you get a pop-up notification at the top-right of the screen.
Had zero prices when dropping merch in to the drop box =( At the end it calculated the prices but still it’s a bit inconvenient. Will try to find what mod caused the 0 prices.
Unfortunately, the hard zero prices when dropping items is part of my mod, and was an uncomfortable compromise.
I didn't want to make it just a container, because then you'd have a complicated juggling act of going to the dropbox, accessing your ship's hold, loading all the items to sell into your own inventory (if you were even close enough to your ship to access the hold), then dropping it in the dropbox. All that would have just increased the friction to an annoying degree.
So I implemented the dropbox in the same way as a trade kiosk, so you can 'deposit' (really, sell) items directly from your ship, regardless of if you're in an interior or too far from your ship. And the only way of implementing the price (and deferred payment) system I wanted was to make the items appear to have no value as you deposit them, then calculate their value later.
It's all very annoying.
At some point I may try making a genuine container version, but even that would have the problem of showing the base value of items rather than the modified value you actually get paid. *sigh*
but wouldnt it be more convienent to place these at places where there isnt a TA? or in places with almost no shopping... or multiple version of... (diff. fees)
like the real-life mail system... postoffices and mailboxes... no office in town...but you have the box(es). for a fee...
and i think the payment shouldnt be capped... (venus waiting thingy) but maybe like a direct payment of (60)% and then next day 20 and day after 20 or something like that...
just some thoughts...
but i really like the general idea behind the mod...
Thanks for the thoughts, I'll consider it . I'll probably have to do some in-game testing to see what other locations make sense to me, so if I do put in more dropboxes it may take me a little while.
Sorry you're having this problem. Did you remove the old version when updating, per the description?
[edit] Ah, also, did you leave the area before checking the slate? I made a small change that the slate only updates once you've gone through a load door; my idea was that the dropbox only gets emptied when you're not around to see it.
I could revert that, if it seems too counter intuitive, though I personally like the idea that someone is physically turning up, emptying the dropbox and tallying the contents.
Any chance of allowing the dropbox to take contraband? Regular loot I can do vendor runs with, but I can sometimes end up with utterly ridiculous amounts of contraband that, due to the scarcity of people who take it and annoyance of evading scans, are... well, annoying to deal with and just sit unsold in an outpost.
I'd do it myself, except I can't get the CK to work and xEdit can do literally nothing with small esms for whatever reason, even use them as masters for patches.
So, I just started a new game and at NA, the TA kiosk/dropbox at the spaceport just opens and closing. No inventory window pops up and the slate is on top of the dropbox instead of in the stand, thus cannot be picked up.
That sounds like the OnLoad event handler isn't firing for either the dropbox or the slate holder. Were you in the spaceport cell when you activated the mod? Or (possibly?) on your ship landed at NA spaceport?
If you were, try leaving the area through any load door, then going back and trying again. Otherwise, let me know and I'll try and reproduce this.
Blast! I messed up :(. I'll get a new .zip file up in a few minutes.
Ok, thanks for checking. Is the slate displaying ok? That's what messes up if you don't clean your save as described in the description. If that's ok, then I think it was just a problem with the OnLoad event not firing.
while i agree that i would be nice to raise the pay out a bit, maybe like a credit system (if you have used the service several times your credit with them goes up so you can do more at one time) or maybe scale it with the perk like the percentage so at max level it gets closer to the 500k others mentioned.
either way i think its wonderful and thank you for the mod
This is seriously a genius, immersive way around the vendor economy limits. Well done.
Worked perfectly for me with MO2. I was even in the Den when I installed it, just had to go back to my ship then back to the Den, as stated in the instructions.

Do let me know if I've misunderstood.

Huh, no, it should be alright...NOTE: I did have the old version installed, so this happened with updating from 1.0 to 2.0.
Hope you enjoy the changes I made :)
