I liked this mod. However, after A LOT of trial and error, I found that this mod was the cause of my game crashing every time I exited a cutscene/heart event. Until it receives an update I have removed it from my load order.
a config file is generated in the mod folder upon loading it for the first time. there, you can tweak each individual bonus to lower the amount of friendship gained.
for reference when editing the values, a single heart of friendship is 250
If there's going to be an update in the future, I hope this mod will have ingame config for ease of use. Right now, the default setting is abit too overpowered. I became friends with pretty much everyone even though I never gave them any gifts.
Also you get too much points from "witness." So if there's like 4+ NPCs in the same vicinity, they all will get extra +8> from just the witness bonus alone. I think it's best if the "witness" points should only trigger once for each person per day, at least give us the option to choose enable/disable it. Right now, changing it to +1 points seems to be the most sensible choice, but it's still too much if there's alot of NPCs in one room, especially if you have mods like RSV / SVE. Well, I can disable the whole "witness" thing by giving +0 per trigger, but it seems to defeat the whole purpose of the mod.
kidhedera comment below shared their setting so you might want to try that. I decided to uninstall the mod because I feel like the game are too fast paced now with the relationship increasing so fast.
Hi, have you checked if this mod is compatible with online multiplayer / co-op? And do all players need to have it installed or just those who want it?
Would you consider adding the features of Social Networks into this? I can't play without PotC and Social Networks since I play very slowly and tend to roleplay my character (relationships take eternity without these two mods) and the author of Social Networks hasn't been active in years so it's unlikely to get a 1.6 update.
I like the concept of expanding the friendship system a lot, combining this mod with some dialogue mods is especially great, I just wish the friendship points had a customizable scale. It feels like no time at all to get high friendship levels, but maybe I'm just personally looking for a slower playstyle in general, given I have time-slowing mods as well
I've been working on balancing my friendship gain with a whole parcel of mods and I'm much closer to something that feels balanced (enough passive gain to keep me happy, but enough decay that I don't become besties with someone I never talk to overnight). My combo involves Friend of a Friend + Part of the Community for passives, and then I use Gift Decline, Friendship Decay, Friendship Tweaks, NPC Gift Multipliers and Enhanced relationships on top because I'm a control freak. (Friendship decay, Friendship Tweaks and NPC Gift Multipliers all overlap, but have enough different settings for me to keep them all.)
My PoTC settings are as follows: { "WitnessBonus": 2, "StorytellerBonus": 1, "UjamaaBonus": 1, "UmojaBonusFestival": 10, "UmojaBonusMarry": 10, "UmojaBonus": 2, "UjimaBonusStore": 5, "UjimaBonus": 2, "KuumbaBonus": 1 }
My strategy with the other mods is to reduce the birthday gift bonus from x8 to x3, Winter star gift from x5 to x2 and cap gains from one gift/event at 500FP. Then I halve the overall friendship gain with 'friendship tweaks' while leaving the friendship reduction multiplier at 1. I use Enhanced Relationships to add a heart level dependent extra 'friendship decay' and a harsh penalty to missing birthdays. My Friendship Decay mod settings are pretty much the defaults.

Unless that changed you should be good
