Hi I was wondering if updating this for 1.6 would be possible. I love this character and I wanna use it, but no 1.6 compatibility makes it a no go. I don't have an older version, and even if I did, my accessibility mod probably wouldn't run with it.

Just downloaded this mod because I remembered of the old mumps mod and I'm enjoying it so much!! It's really funny and I think you actually nailed the characterization. :)

I. LOVE. THIS. MOD. I love it so so so much as a past DF viewer! This is genuinely one of my favourite mods in Stardew, like actually, idk if I could play without Mumps sassing me every time I try to interact with him. Having him around just fills me with this inordinate amount of joy that no other custom NPC can match. You have done an absolutely incredible job with him.
Now, i have to ask, because it'll be heartbreaking if it's not going to happen and I might need to take mourning leave; is Mumps going to be updated for 1.6? I know it's only a day since the update, but I need to be prepared to go buy a bucket of ice cream to eat my feelings if continued support isn't planned, lol.
Seriously though, no hard feelings if you don't want to work on the mod anymore. You've done such a stellar job already. I could barely find anyone who still seemed to remember DF, and to find out that there was someone who liked his SV stuff enough to make a Mumps NPC? Changed me as a person, ngl. Mumps is amazing. I just want to say thank you for all the work you've put into creating him, and thank you for the experiences I've had with him being a terrifying, omnipresent deity-like figure in my SV world. ♡

I intend to update it, yes, I haven't played the updates and I'm not 1000% sure what all will need to change, but I do plan to!!

do you have any plans to update his farm map because it looks quite plain also very nice to see a second farmer on stardew valley. Maybe you can even add rivalry events between the farmer and mumps. I love the idea of having competition
I plan to try to make some seasonal map changes in the future, but as far as the design itself, I don't currently plan to revamp as of right now. If you have suggestions or ideas of how to liven it up a little more, I would be into looking at it, but it's really not something I am the best at.
As for rivalry events, I plan to eventually make sort of two methods of interaction, an enemy sort of route (anything that remains three hearts and under for long periods/following some triggering event at three hearts) and your typical friendly interactions. More simply, yes, rivalry events are possible, but pretty far in the future! The priority right now is to get all of his friendly progression done and over time introduce the sort of enemy events, if you will.
I really appreciate that!! I love making this mod, and I consider it a stepping stone to making much larger NPC additions in the future, so I really hope to make it as immersive and fun as I can :)
Is he actually leaving his home map at all? Backwoods is blocked from NPCs, so he can't enter the Backwoods Map/leave his home map. That might be why people are having trouble finding him.
He should be,, He doesn't leave until like 8am most mornings. He has some special warps that take him from his home map to different parts of the map.
His map comes off of the area north of the player farm, so I had to build in warps because he was originally taking eighty years to get through the mountain haha
He can be hard to find on his home map early in the morning and be a little elusive thought because he spend a LOT of time walking around, which is something done intentially at first, but I think I need to narrow it down a little
I believe it! I'll have to take a look more in depth to see how he's moving around, hopefully it isn't broken but it wouldn't surprise me haha I appreciate the tip, I hadn't considered that could cause issues, so thank you a ton!
Qith circular routes you can sometimes end up with NPCs in weird places so keep an eye out. Circular routes are anythingthat connects to two different maps. It's why backwoods is npc blocked.
Ohh I see! That makes a lot of sense. I'll have to stalk around him a bit to make sure. I'm only lucky that right now he only has five variations haha Thanks again :)
First time I walked into town after Mumps moved in, he plowed right into me and apparently it was my fault. Oh, not plowed as on a tractor, although it wouldn't have been out of character. He just came barreling into me.
It's my favorite first event for him, unless it broke something for you I have considered expanding / changing the first event but I don't have many ideas admittedly haha
