Here to support this idea and turn it into a plea. Dear Harvey's beach sprite is by far the worst one.. he looks like a long toddler :'(. Also, thank you for the mods!!
I actually edited this sprite for the beach version. I spent the entire day on it, and gave Harvey shorts by using Sam as a reference (because WTF is he wearing a dang SPEEDO).
Anyway, I hope it's better than the default one from CA. Enjoy!

I've updated this mod to have everything you need for 1.6 in the OPs style, (beach and winter sprites included) mustached version only, lmk if you guys want a version without - i will take this down if the mod owner requests :) (also fixed the bug where harvey turns into a black box when sleeping)
edit: made a version without the mustache as requested! just unzip the file and place either the "Harvey Stache" or "Harvey No Stache" file in your mods folder :)
do you have the latest smapi and content patcher updates? if that's not it maybe check for any other recolor/ replacer mods you have that could be interfering with it. i have everything updated and its working fine!
make sure you have smapi and content patcher updated, as well as no other conflicting mods that might override the sprites like seasonal outfits, i havent tried those mods so im not sure if they're incompatible :)
This doesn't work for me :(. I'm using 1.6, and this is the only sprite override for Harvey that I have in my Mods folder. I am using the one provided in the link. I tried both the "stache" and "no stache" versions. My Harvey ingame is still a nerdy little turtle man.
@Belladori make sure you have bothismapi and content patcher installed and updated! If that doesn't work i dont know what else it could be, i just checked in my game and it works! hope youre able to sort it out
@aexov no xnb version, sorry! but the png versions should work with it perfectly. if you want to convert them to xnb, there's xnb converter websites online you could use :)
Made the winter sprites so its compatible with 1.6, make sure to download this + the original file + the beach version by YosemiteSamm below to get everything you need.

That is probably the manifest.json, when its identical SMAPI will have that problem with instances. To solve this you can edit it and change "Name" "Author" "Description" "UpdateKeys" - just take "Nexus:879" out because its not an offical Nexus mod (SMAPI will tell you that it doesnt have an update key and cant search for updates, but that is more of an info then an error)

Hey dont know if you noticed but you dont have an xnb in your mod so it cant work, also if it would the png you included is just the standart winter sprite and wouldnt change anything.
If you need help with compacting xnb files i can help you with that if you want.
WHOOPS thanks for pointing that out, I just fixed it and I think this should work. I didn’t get to test thoroughly but i didn’t get the duplicate mod error in SMAPI anymore, so lmk if there are anymore problems! (you will have to edit the beach version’s manifest yourself though).
As for the xnb, you don’t actually need one for it to work, a png works just fine. with either file type you just gotta make sure you’re typing in the asset file correct in the content file
Hi! about that .xnb file that you say it's not required, would it work without SMAPI then? I'm playing on the legacy version, so I cant use SMAPI, but I have tried sprite mods by swapping the .xnb files and those did work, I actually had this mod before the update. So, would it work still? How should I install it?
So unfortunately you would need SMAPI for this to work, since it uses Content Patcher. However! I've just updated the file to include the xnb for you, and the beach version below already has it. So just download this new one and you should be good! Remember to back up your vanilla xnb's somewhere safe before replacing them :)
I made an "Winter" version of this mod, meaning I changed the green parts of Harvey's design and colored them with the winter palette. It is to be installed as a seperate mod since it changes the winter sprite not the normal one. And ive inclueded an png file so you can view the changes before starting your game.

Today I spent the afternoon making a beach version of the Harvey Refined sprite from the modder!
I gave him swim shorts cuz I hate that he wears a speedo, which makes the sprite look even more abysmal and used Sam for reference to achieve this.
If anyone wants a version with the mustache or coolyellow42's stacheless glassesless version or this one, please let me know!
